Had a good chat with Harry about next steps on getting the full Em-8ER character into Lyra. We worked on prepping folder organization.

I fixed a shader or two and Harry comitted his changes for the new modular ability system that will also allow us to add ....crafting in the future.

We converted the project over to Unreal 5.3 for speed and feature improvements.

Set up Visual Studio for compiles on new build.

Had meetings to go over next steps and update automated build process.

Researched procedural geometry features in Unreal for level prototyping.

Reviewed new Tsi-hu beast of burden and started work on geometry script brushes for our level prototyping.

Started to look at character creation options in various games and how to use control net to drive our own.

Spent the day experimenting with Blender's geometry nodes.

Given the small size of the team and what we want to build for bases and terrain, procedural generation will be useful.

Geometry nodes allows you to do things similar to geometry scripts in Unreal.

Today was getting back into Substance Designers to create procedural textures.

Been awhile since I made the ice. This will be great for terrain textures.

The key to understanding Substance Designer is the noise funcntion.

Today I set up a bunch of noise examples, exploring and observing 7-8 major classes of noise.

Noise drives everything in games, not just textures. It handles wind in grass, explosions and more.

I wanted to take a day to really study it.
