Laying out plans for this quarter of the year. Website revamp with more game details.

Character centric and light frame focused demo (for more Firefall feels), and more video based social media activity based on new game build.

Looking over the novel today. The Gatestriders needs more interesting culture. They were always meant to be indepedent and "cowboy" like.

Started work today on the notion that Gatestriders believe in a type of individualistic sovereignty, and started outlining what that might look like, expressions used, politics, culture, etc.

Unreal now supports nanite on their terrain systems, not for detail but for fast clulling and streaming.

Should be a peformance boost. Need to compare it to our current voxel terrain, which is already very speedy.

Started setting up control rig for character customization in Unreal.

Researching UV manipulation for some visual effects. First time for me doing this. Took a bunch of notes, made some tests.

Also have Em and Harry getting together to figure out why our build system isn't working with the new Unreal update.

Whiteboxing day! Starting laying out and sizing bases, and took a stab at Home using the new unreal 5.3 tools. Things have gotten a lot easier for layout now.

Turned my attention to tabletop today. It's been too long since an update there.

Going to devote a few hours a week towards getting the rpg side underway for monthly patrons.

DnD's new edition sounds like it's going to fall flat. It's the time for another TTRPG to get more visiblity.

Trying to do something original but still fun and streamlined is hard.

Want to have enough optional crunchyness to ruleset for old school.

Okay today was NURBS day in Blender. Also did 500 words on the novel. Happy Halloween everyone!

Took a meeting with Harry to go over a few next steps. Follow up tomorrow.

Traded some email with AMD about swarmer issue and gave them the sandbox project.

Harry also prepped a windows binary of the demo to check out.

Harry and I got together to look over the build and figure out tasks like a testing level and re-adding the falling code.

Worked with AMD to get them the full project so they can look further into the swarmer issue. AMD has it down to a single DirectX call that is failing so hopefully they will get some engineer time on this.

Started working with the new modeling tools in Unreal which allow for less use of external DCCs.

Finally, could really use some positivity as we ramp back up on production. If we get positive encouragement as we work, you won't believe how much that helps.
