    New website launched: www.em8er.com

Congrats Ember team! Also, I am very interested in more info about this: "The base frame will determine what options are available. Each frametype also has its own signature game mechanic. Heavy omniframes store incoming kintetic and energy weapon damage and converts it to offensive power."

Halloween Update, Omniframe customization and Moving To New Website

First?!?! Obliged to say inb4Fooni I just read the article and holy christ those designs are nice. Would the current omnimek be the "medium" design? (also nekomek's talon feet actually look kinda cool) Also what are weapon pods? And where on the mek are they?

Weapon Idea and Sketch: The Mag-Harpoon, a Mobility weapon for Snipers/Archers

Yeah go right ahead! I'm bad at translating my sketches into digital art so be my guest. Just don't forget to give creds. But yeah, a large mech balancing on a thin rod didn't make sense to me and I had trouble justifying it. All I know is that I wanted the ability to make impromptu sniping...

Weapon Idea and Sketch: The Mag-Harpoon, a Mobility weapon for Snipers/Archers

In firefall, it was hard to get that awesome feeling of verticality as a sniper(unless you make the case that the tiger claw was a sniper). With this weapon idea, I'd hope to grant that sense of movement while still maintaining essential aspects of sniper gameplay. This is the Mag-Harpoon It...

Could we have a simple "Phase Shift" for OWPvP?

My concern with arena-pvp is that it would require a lot more unrelated development time that doesn't contribute to the pve game(designing an arena, primarily). I totally understand what you are saying, but I'm not sure about how else to add pvp in a way that doesn't require significant work...

Could we have a simple "Phase Shift" for OWPvP?

I know the intention is that the game wouldn't have PvP, but for those of us who really enjoy high-mobility OWPvP, Ember would be an awesome place to include it. Adding pvp wouldn't take extra effort, and the main thing that would have to change is the way squads/platoons work. Basically, I'm...

    NightStroke's Sketchbook

Something a little less crazy for you all :p.(areas that would glow are lighted and my base sketch was edited a little to emphasize the "geometry") I drew this a while ago, didn't get the opportunity to post because I was caught up with school and the college app process. This is my personal...

Hey! I really dig your profile photo's aesthetic, and I was wodnering if that was from a video game; if so which one?

    NightStroke's Sketchbook

Don't worry, this is the least-realistic omnimek I will be making. My next ones are going to be more of what you'd expect (ember version of the Firecat, a samurai omnimek that essentially mixes zarya and genji, a gunslinger with a giant revolver, the equivalent of an r36tor from pre-1.6 days.)...

    I made a Water-based omnimek called Mako :3

    NightStroke's Sketchbook

First omnimek design! MAKO! It's a mek that uses hydrokinetics to shape and move through water, acting as an assassin type character that can instantly kill a target of any health with a long cooldown by forcing them into the depths with Mako. Weapon: Fins Melee high damage, low attack speed...

Thanks! School is picking up again (senior year, college apps) so I haven't really been able to create more sketches or anything, but once I get free I plan on designing a bunch of omnimeks and weapons(I already have a stylistically different version of the omnimek planned out in my head).

Add More Illuminated Parts/Reactor Lights to the Omnimek(Art Edit Included)

Probably worth noting that @Grummz has already addressed the lighting suggestion(in the hard driver mode thread), saying he likes it and plans to add more glowy parts to the omnimek.

    NightStroke's Sketchbook

I wish I could be at his level. He makes amazing art(especially character work). Digitally, I just draw lines and circles and cut and paste things until it looks forgivable.(if I think the digital art is good I may throw on some effects :p)

    Melee combat

The constraint on melee is that animations cost money. Guns are preferred since you simply hold them and leave the rest to vfx. Melee requires animation that looks smooth and usually involves motion capture. If you had guns that somehow preformed melee attacks with energy blades or something...

    NightStroke's Sketchbook

Might as well update this with whatever art I'm doing related to Ember. I made an edit of the omnimek such that is has more lighted textures(and consequently looks cooler in the dark, like firefall frames did) Here is my current/most updated edit(Purposefully darker image to accentuate the lights)

Omniframe Hard Driver Mode - NEW art

If you do go ahead with it, I really hope that it isn't just lighting up the parts of the omnimek that already look like lights in the original artwork. It could really use more aesthetic lighting in general(hence my post :P)

    The Omniframe Revealed

I must say @Legend57 your design has a really nice style to it.

Health, Armor, and Shields (and damage types)

@EvilKitten I'm saying there should be a difference between weapon styles and damage types, but not one that is exclusively arbitrary and statistical without changing the way I shoot things. I want strategic and tactical encounters, and simply changing some variable in a loadout without...
