Shooting Range/Combat SIM/Training Hall...whatever you'd want to call it

A la Borderlands 2. In the back of Marcus' shop.

Ember should have something along the lines of this. Places where one can have instant, consistent feedback, floating damage numbers with status effects, the usual, without having to go out onto to the field and where they could tests every part of their equipment on (almost - but necessarily - all) the different types of targets the could encounter. It would break lore or immersion if they could prepare a training course with every possible type of target, even if we only take elemental effects or armor into consideration. Some foes should be unknown and be able to surprise the player with resistances and more effective attacks than one might have gotten used to up to a certain point in their game.

In addition to this, what is annoying in Firefall, is that the item cards don't reflect changes to the stats added by bonuses like ER points or even perks, I think. Might be wrong on the latter, but definitely not all stat changes are properly reflected.

Great Idea.
Wanted this in Firefall. Just a simple damage target room with a numerical grid, that measures damage from Weapons/Grenades/Abilities, showing spread and splash values also.

A DPS dummy. :)

Sweet and simple; Shooting Range with Targets at varying distances. Assuming we'll see drop off damage it'll be more valuable then but also simply valuable to test spread and recoil.

More depth;
Moving bot targets scrolling side to side.
Drop down targets to test reflex.

Unfortunately FF suffered from what I like to call 'Stat Bloat' and it did a terrible job with naming conventions and descriptions to boot making the whole system an unfriendly mess.

a target range is always useful. it's useful for Development, too....
great for everyone so long as it's kept up to date and provides appropriate ways to test as many things as possible.
