I appreciate the concern but no, it's good to be aware of how far society has fallen.
The "what the..." was more along the lines of what perv of a dev/artist did that model and who in the world thought it was a good idea to actually include it in a game.

Any dev that actually animates a camel toe into a female character, especially one that looks to be about 11yrs old... should have that on the top of their employment review..

I sometimes hate my high attention to detail, but thankfully my internet "innocence" died a long time ago and I just shrug these things off now.
What I saw might have been a graphic edit done by a "fan", I'm not going to research it. I don't feel like diving down the "what is/isn't" Rule 34 for Tera. lol
That has been done in alot of games though. They sneak little things in like that, with only particular avatar sets, like some people won't notice. As if there wasn't something else that dev couldn't have spent time on...
How about we give the player a choice? I'm not a fan of seeing excessive amounts of flesh *cough*Engineer*cough* on anyone.
Also, let's try to keep it PG. I have grandkids who will sometimes be running around, I'd rather not have to curtail my playtimes because they're here. And maybe I'd be able to buy them a copy if everyone's not dressed like a pole dancer.
Seriously, do you have to have a flesh parade to buy a game? Go to any of the billions of porn sites till you get over it. Heck, there are even a couple of games (maybe more by now) that are based on sex. Or you could try meeting someone you'd actually like to spend time with IRL and maybe see some skin IRL.
Well everything that I've said regarding females goes for males as well, and it really only makes sense if the setting for the game is going to be in the same place, in Brazil, where it's hot, and most people walk around with little clothing on already, even if they're not piloting a one ton battleframe.
I honestly hope the devs set the game somewhere else though, and don't try to copy TOO many things from the old Firefall.
This was always a beef I have had with games that offered character customization as well. Too few options coupled with generic/ugly styles. While I haven't played Firefall specifically, I'm mainly commenting on games in general that offer the customization option and end up falling flat.

Hey gyus, I r offended n stuff at things, and i wnat burkas on all characters because reasons.
It has guns. It has death. Players are *mercenaries*. Anyone embarrassed about heroes being unreasonably superhuman has a bigger problem.
Go ahead and provide character choices, just don't waste too much development effort on them. I guarantee you players will choose beauty and brawn the majority of the time.
Abs over beer guts.
The free market will decide.
Aggressive navel.

Not entirely true. I know quite a few people who will make ugly characters for the lolz, male and female. Everyone is expressing what they would like to see in a new game as well as what they didn't like in Firefall.
Games always start at character creation, so it's absolutely not a waste of time or dev to make lots of choices for people including the "ugly" stuff which may not be ugly to everyone. I guarantee you that more choice will bring in way more players than just adding in pretty stuff.
Just like many have said above - beefy men/women don't appeal to everyone the same as skinny men/women don't. It's not about "being embarrassed" about it, it's about what someone wants to play as for their own enjoyment.
In Firefall the female Assault showed more skin then the Engineer before the Engineer was changed. No one complained.
The Firefall Engineer simply had an asymmetric design which attracted more attention to the design of the outfit, resulting in people complaining for different reasons.

Personalization of the player's avatar helps the player identify with the avatar more, and gives more enjoyment of the game than a game where you can't customize your avatar.

I also saw a lot of TOR characters rocking the fat bodytype (although the female option was more of an "extra womanly build" than actually obese ).
One guy even built his characters around their rotundness, giving them pizza-related names. First time I met him was at a PvP match, where his extra large republic trooper was sporting the name "Calzone". Great guy.

They are talking about games like Tera and Blade and Soul.
In both games (Blade and Soul is kinda a clone of Tera) the respective races lore make them ageless/relatively long lived beings who simply stop physical development early on (more so for the Elin, Lyn eventually get to old age). The Goddess Elinu made the Elin's in Tera as a reflection of her desire for Beauty and Peace (they are ageless, living until something kills them). The Lyn in Blade and Soul are descendants of the legendary creatures known as Kirin.
Lore wise and in game all of them are adult age. They are just designed to look young/underdeveloped. Naturally as both games sexualize all characters (though people bring up the sexualization of female characters and ignore the male characters), they are not excluded. So they get the same animated cameltoes that all other female characters get, and access to largely the same wardrobes.
Character customization is a must! Personally one of the best I've messed with is for Champions Online. For this discussion peeps should go check that one out. I believe it's still F2P.
As for the amount of customization. Using UE4 it could be that the devs just open it up somehow for peeps to submit what they built themselves and the devs review and say yes/no. Could be a huge money saver for a small group like this one will most likely be. Plus...you never know...could be some of the best customization options out there if community driven.
Personally I hope we end up with frame customization almost as much as charcater customization. I always liked the looks of ""piecemail"" type mecha from games like Battletech/Mechwarrior and Front Mission 3 and with this whole Omni-frame thing they are shooting for with Ember I think it would be cool to see lots of different options for frame Helmet/Torso/Arms/Legs/Backpack and/or Power Supply, and maybe even Shoulders. Especially since you end up looking at only your head after charcater creation anyway (which is another GREAT reason to have body types/sliders available).
