Playing The Division 2. Taking my time and playing by myself. I figure after I experienced the story/setting once, I'll make a new toon and start again but with people.

for some reason, they changed sniper rifles such that it always goes into max zoom if you are using a #x scope instead of like how in Division 1 where you had more control. Thing is though, you don't really need a scope for most of the sniper rifles since iron sights is far superior. The only time I found a scope useful is for those sniper rifles that act more like an assault rifle. Then again those snipe rifles tend to put out far less damage per shot since their RPM is so high.

I also like that you aren't forced to stay with a team in this game. If player decides they want to partner up with people and do their own thing seperate from the group, the game doesn't forces you to stay with the group.

The story is just as interesting as the last one, though they have expanded it better than the first 1.

Until we Get the Playable Mockup I am playing my standby games... Mostly old NES/SNES titles and sometimes an old PC game or browser game i.e. Limbo.. Pretty unimpressive stuff because I am partially boycotting AAA games. Absolutely disgusted with their greedy practices.

for me it depends on the company. Some companies for certain titles are done well. Where game content isn't limited to how much $$ you are willing to put down.

Like I'm playing division 2 now. And sure they do got some content locked down but it's ain't stuff that everyone will want. Like clothes and other fashion stuff which can be unlocked in the game. Though, they do got plans for weapons and game content that will be paid extra for... but only the most addicted long term players will probably buy that stuff since the game got a ton of content pre-endgame and post-endgame as is.

but yeah I see your point since there is a lot of companies that doing what they can to screw over the customer. At this point it seems like Steam is going to be one of the very few platforms that allows 3rd party sellers for products because everyone else is way too greedy to allow others in.

It's pretty frustrating to see other companies adopting the predatory practices of the mobile game market.

Playing Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

The game feels like Farcry and The Division had a baby.

I guess the addition of the patrols on the roads and the manned checkpoints is to encourage players to actually use the open world as is. Especially since I have been able to use a variety of vehicles to drive up really steep walls/mountains. It feels like the devs tried hard to not constrain the player too much.

I turned off guided exploration as soon as I found the main camp cause seeing a constant waypoint reminded me of tunnels. Guided is on as default and that means you go where they tell you to go whereas the exploration mode just gives you hints where you are supposed to go, so it seems more engaging to me. I figure the Devs probably had guided on as default because it would be very difficult to come across the main camp that pretty much unlocks the rest of the game on exploration mode. That place is in the middle of nowhere, in the mountains and very far from where you start of.

I feel like exploration is more enjoyable than guided because the devs didn't make level 1 zone, level 2 zone, etc. Instead they put everything in the same place. And actually having to search for where my mission starts and all the other weird side quest missions they jammed into this game is pretty cool.

Levels don't matter as long you point your gun at weakpoints for humans. For machines on the other hand, you going to need to cheap them out to take them out when they are sitting at 40+ levels above you. The same goes for humans if you are targeting anything other than their heads. Which means I just dismantled every weapon I got as loot.

All flying vehicles can be taken down with a few shots at the rotors, the tail or one shot at the pilot or one missle. Which means they aren't good to use against the drone tanks who got miniguns/motars/missles/etc. But are fine against the drone tanks that only got one weapon.

You can play this game solo until you get to the end and want to play a raid.

Food items are pointless if you are pointing your weapons at heads because then everything dies in one or two shots regardless of the weapon. But if you are more of the spray & pray type, then they can be useful for their short term effects.

[edit]
whatever idiot taught it would be cool to force an escort mission in this game needs to be whipped with a thin birch branch. If it wasn't for the fact that the game world actually fixes this mission by allowing you to clear out the enemies before you attempt the escort, I would have gave up trying to complete this solo. The reason why this is annoying is because the escort car can only take 2 shots from a sniper or a few more from every other gun. If the car dies, the mission resets to the beginning of the escort part. Oh, and the AI driver is forced to drive at the speed that you, nor the AI enemies you face normally in the game drives at. Oh and you go through two checkpoints with snipers and one place with AI tanks with miniguns, and 2 helicopters.

Warframe,
i used to not like it.

It's also a pretty complicated game for a new player to get into. But now after a while and getting better at the movement meta you begin to notice the skill ceiling in it and i'm kinda a sucker for those types of mechanics. Once get the hang of the movement you can really achieve "flow" states and that's ussually what i miss in MMOs.

i have to admit it's starting to scratch those Firefall iches.

Its a fun game but the grinding is very much at times & some parts are annoying to get especially with mining for specific resources because the drop rate of a specific resource your after doesn't always happen since it is random i think.

Currently there is a dry dock to build which is a big spaceship takes alot of resources and credits but cannot fly it until the next update.

I just like playing as ivara frame & looking forward to the prime version of ivara even if she is a jelly fish frame. Much prefer the tree frog look at least we are able to use tennogen skins.

Yeah, i haven't gottan that far in it yet, it's clearly grindy but like i concider myself more a casual nowadays so i don't care that much. I am happy with my exalibur, skana and bow, archwing en skateboardthing and for now that's all i need to have fun it it. It's just a quick session of hop in, kill some baddies, do some cool ninja moves and after 1 hour orso i'm bored of it and i'll play again next week or something.

I understand that the grind at end game is a bitch but for a casual, it's still a very fun game.

Firefall was a grind and complicated mess too at endgame imo XD

edit: oh yeah now that i think about it, does most if not all of the powerfcure in WF come from mods? The powercurve seems very low to me, or is there something i'm missing? (Main character is maxxed-ish, so that can't be it)

I like my excal too but then all the chopping so took a break, now go my pace and some get angry and leave but since i am invisible snail its ok....unless there is a timer then i must do more ninja rolls.

Those primed mods and dual stats are nice they made my baza gun more better it was a pea shooter and after some mods and time to max the mods now its an upgraded beans shooter :D

Not sure on all that power curves but i guess in time with all the right mods, and things it happens. if i can make damage and stay invisible i am happy saves me alot when i am typing too or eating!

Same here, i try to get little involved in going for "endgame" as fast as possible. I just don't have the time or even desire to do it.

i noticed the mods get crazy the higher up, but still even without them i don't feel utterly helpless against enemies a bit higher than i'm supposed to. So IMO, the balance is there, you can play with a new friend on Jupiter or so, even if he only played 40 hours.

He won't be the hero but he won't get totally destroyed either (think anti-wow).

So still a very casual approach to the power curve and so far it works. I'm sure at end game, this perspective might bite me in the ass.

Pearl abyss is also working on an "MMO-shooter"

IMO, kinda meh. Firefall really left a hole in my hearth for gaming. Maybe we were a niche, but it was a niche i really felt home in.

To find a game like firefall, that has SOME of its mechanics, is pretty simple.

To find one that combines them all, that's a rare gem. Some of the parts are there but never all (in that same way). The feedback loop of Firefall. Grinding for resources, in an open world ruled by dynamic events. Extreme emphasis on freedom of movement, extreme emphasis on frame personal preferences, through fine tuning.

The cartoonie, not taking itself too serious feel. So many do a portion of it, but non tried to do the whole package.

Looking at you Anthem...

I've been playing 'No mans sky'. Some neat planatery discovery mechanics and resoure collecting. Otherwise...its still buggy, has limited appeal (imo) once you have alot of cash. Space and planetary combat is ok -meh! > Next challenge!!. Also, some story line missions are bugged/gliched - but alot better than it used to be. Apparently!

Then , the PC version suffers from a bad UI that makes little practical sense, e.g. Space battles are silly, as if you need to recharge your shield you are forced to open a window to a resource or fly/run far away for them to auto recharge...same for ground situations. Other utilities are picked by using a carousel - up/down method to choose various things...NO HOT BAR's or configuarable keyboard short cuts.

I did enjoy seeing some zany ship designs, that owe inspirations from SW, star fighter etc. And can be fun to fly around asteroid fields and do ground zips pot shooting sentinels!

7/10

I have heard of this game it does look really nice but didnt wow me so much apart from certain parts of it like the squid like augments and wall running etc.

I got a good feeling Em8er is going to be the game, especially with the various types of kaiju categories, the way our mechs can be customized and the alternative Biomes we can go to i just hope there is also a great storyline in the game too.

If i had to talk about firefall the cell shaded style that to me made the game appealing it was still action packed but didn't have that look i am a realistic game its serious gaming vibe.

The game was a game but the action spoke for itself with all the things that were out there crazy stomping mammoth type creatures and annoying creatures giving the environment there were other life forms.

Some good humour in the game and memorable npc's.

Was also thinking abit after watching plan8 and i know from Em8er that not staying in the mech when going outside is dangerous due to environment and especially the enemies.

What if we could improve our current g-suit i know this is like iron man and the main appeal is the mek
but seeing pilots out of the mek's looks cool and fun too.

Upgrade branches:
Speciic modules could improve the standard G-suit it doesnt replace the Mek but instead offers an alternative way to use the G-suit

There could be a selection of modules for the g-suit depending on your gameplay here are a few.

Module Stealth - This provides camo suit to blend with which ever surrounding you are in unless it takes time to scan that layer and replicate . it doesn't offer much other than being harder to see and improved vision.

Using the shadow gives you a time to recharge but when in the light and the suit runs out of energy then you are seen.

Module Leaper - This provides improved jump and wall hang capability using the inbuilt energy reserves that refill in time.

Great for moving about and leaping on someones head and hanging like a spider!

Module Heavy - This provides the most advanced armor/shielding for the G suit series but would reduce the pilots speed.

walking and getting wacked and shot is ok but not for too long!

I love the meks and also like to see the pilots too in firefall the pilots and their battleframe looked fun
now in em8er we have mek's and the g-suit looks sleek.

For a fact i could see both ways used:

Meks
- Go into harsher territories
- Survive higher category kaiju's
- move faster

G-suits
- Smaller profile harder to spot
- Distract and escape tactics
- Getting into small openings that larger units cannot

I am interested in getting all the crafting done in warframe then if anyone decides to join me its easier to help them with getting things.

Have still a long way to go in this game and 1 or 2 story line to do which i haven't yet because its going to take abit of grinding.

What i also like doing is stealing things from the enemies and seeing the enemies look around huh unless my invisible powers have gone then i look for the nearest energy orb as soon as possible !!!!

Retro weekends are good i am back to contra on the nes for some 8bit classic but my controller needs replacing hmm

Been playing a game called The Cycle (available for free on Epic games launcher) Reminded me heavily of Firefall with it's look, monsters and the fact you can call down mining pods on resources and waves of creatures appear to attack it, along with other 'contracts' you need to get in order to win the game (have the most contracts completed and evacuate the map) It's basically what you'd get if Apex Legends had a baby with Firefall. I'm really liking it (also has jet packs)

It does look interesting & fun, i dont know about the name thought it was a motorbike or cycling game, also not as unique looking as firefall was in my opinion!

I tried to play games from epic and their launcher is blaa maybe i am just unlucky.

warframe update Empyrean is fun even though the spaceship looks strange.

I am most likely going to focus on engineer intrinsic so i can repair the spaceship more efficiently.
If your up for hoping over and joining the space battle could use the help :D

Warhammer 40k Inquisitor: Martyr (Prophecy) they have added so much stuff in a year like the new tech-priest class that's essentially a summoner of sorts with all those tech creations and robots, plus the tech-priest had it's own story so it was a proper re-start. I guess next i will be playing Avorion again as it has had some updates aswell. Unless the Terraria update gets out before that.
