First translation was Latin and the second was in French i wanted to see how that old prayer would translate to other languages, as hakkapellitas or hackspells were this Finnish cavalry unit with a rather awesome reputation. In the hundred years of war, now dubbed the 30 year war in some sources.

if it's a prayer, ="señor"= is probably off and it should definitely use usted-forms. I looked up the conjugation of liberar, and none of the imperative conjugations are identical to the infinitive. I'm also not sure how to turn hakkapelite into an adjective, so I'm doing it in a few different ways.

addressing someone as #"herre"# is the same as addressing them as ¤"lord"¤. it's mostly used in prayers nowadays, in which case it's capitalized. #"Herren"# is the same ¤"the Lord"¤, but #"en herre"# is ¤"a gentleman"¤.

on a related note, old norwegian psalms (I think mostly baroque) often use double capitalization for the god of Abraham. so #"GUd"#. I think they were just showing off. only other reason I can think of is to make it unambiguous, but anyone born in a norse norway was hundreds of years dead at that point. it also just looks ugly.

if anyone remembers me counter-proselytizing a hare krishna person in the name of SOl, I used that style even though it's really confusing for a word that ends with l. Sol is the hacked god of abraham, by the way. chosen because it's literally the star Sol, and needed because most spellcasters use identification as either priests or imams, which means it starts trying to pay attention to them if they say anything similar to a prayer. yay cosmic horror.
