What is noteworthy other than another attempt at a failed game?

Not being rude just stating facts, i didnt think Firefall was that astounding.
It was ok i played for a long time but ive played Warframe for a lot longer probably 4 times as long. probably 900 + hrs.

So is this another flash in the pan attempt to keep it going?

P.s i dont care about the politics, im just curious.
P.s.2 Who gave Ember permission to mail me or did they hack FF dbase?

What type of mail did you got? the type of mail I got was that I had gotten an conversation started over at the firefall forums, in that conversation there was info about Ember. I then later checked out the firefall forums to see what was going on, and well now I am here.

This is another shot at the concept. Mark is taking a more careful approach this time around. He plans on running crowdfunding campaigns for each stage of the game creation process. I personally think this is smart because it allows for all the money to be earned and put less people at risk of disappointment. If the last goal was meet on time it builds confidence.

Your email was done through the firefall msg and was pretty much spam. Not going to sugar coat it.

No one did, you did give the firefall forums permission to mail you forum inbox mails, due to lax security and low quality moderation on the now semi-abandoned firefall forums it was possible for someone to shotgun mail abusing the personal message feature of the forums, it wasn't done by official ember people either, just an example of overeager fanbase.
You can choose if look closely to the ember project or not but in the meanwhile i'd advise you to flag firefall forums as spam since it won't take long for the usual spammers to learn to abuse it too.

The FF database was script hacked -- from what I understand, many of those involved were banned from Firefall and are calling it a "communist China" move -- but, my view on it is that the action was against the Firefall TOS. It was done because "They thought no one was watching" ...

If this is the character of the Ember base, count me out. (over generalizing, I'm sure most here are decent folk who understand unsolicited spam is not O.K. in any context). But, to me this is reminiscent of Donald Trump and his violent rallies. Yes, it was not "done by official members" and it was "done from passion and an overly excited fanbase," but similarly we need a statement from Kern that this was NOT ok, and those responsible to apologize publicly, for me to have any respect for this community once again.

yeah, I suspect Reece obviously. I have mixed feelings about him, he seems to go way far and above with this whole thing, he seems passionate though, I can respect that.

Nothing was hacked, nobody got anyone's address and nobody got hurt. 1 forum PM, that's all everyone got using regular forum feature. Emails were sent because members agreed and were subscribed to get alerted when someone PMs them. Also banned people had nothing to do with it, they were posting porn and such on FF forums, completely unrelated.

Thank you for the correction. I am glad no personal information was leaked. I think the assumption that nobody got hurt can be said of many spammers -- its in general a victomless "crime" to spam, at least for those not sending malicious code. My hotmail inbox is full of junk mail that can be justified this way. But, I do want to thank you for the correction none-the-less. For some, it may make the violation less egregious.

You are mad that you got a PM and now refuse to take part in the game? OK, that is fine. You could have simply deleted the PM or not read it. I mean either way Firefall will be shutting down soon, the forums will be gone and you will have to move on regardless. I suggest you avoid companies like Ubisoft since they will spam the shit out of your email with offers of swag to purchase, DLC for games you don't even own and games you would never buy.

I do not think that it was a good move by mark to sanction this but anyways obiviously red5 and the9 supports this since http://forums.firefall.com/community/members/ember-community.518215/ has NOT been banned while poor reece and demonslayer have been (they were spamming a bit tbh, not that i can fault them but still, posting the same link over and over is spam at some point.), hence everything was done with regards of firefall forums ToS according to the moderators.

I have the checkbox clicked in my forum profile.
I did not get an email when I got that PM because it falls within my email's spam folder's filter for red5 & firefall.

As far as I know it's not ember that hacked FF data base, it's just a old account I believe the name was "Sexy ...." I forgot the last parts, that changed their name to the ember game one that it currently is. This game is SUPPOSED to be what FF was in the EARLY stages... still waiting to see more details on that part. As it is currently it's just a concept game that's "coming (soon tm) in the future". You've got it to where PM's sent to you on the FF forums are sent to your email I believe.
