Right now, Em-8ER is in a pre-Kickstarter (or pre-pre-alpha) phase.
What this means is, it's too early to give any estimates on alphas, betas, or release dates at this time.
The current demos are developer test builds of the game.
These test builds are the framework for the Playable Mockup (a vertical slice of the game), which will be launched just before Kickstarter. The developer test builds are available TODAY for Backers and Patrons to play in.
Grummz (aka: Mark Kern) has not announced a date for the Kickstarter at this time but, the Dev Team is working on their goals for the Playable Mockup.

Grummz has been keeping a log in the #no-zero-days channel (hyperlink is to the most recent post there) if you would like to get updates on the progress of Em-8er.

At this point a larger update is planned to put more of the individual test assets they have been working on over the years together, in a more coherent, feature full demo.
They are also working on the back end stuff, to ensure stability, performance and hopefully leading to a better workflow for future updates.
Communication has improved but still not great, mostly "no zero days" updates in Discord.
Most of us are waiting to see how all this plays out, which is planned for (early) this year as far as we know. Until more regular communication is a thing, best to check in every few months or so and leave it at that.

This reminds me of a soccer club who formed a new team and the coach couldn't get them to play well. Eventually they got a few good wins and some mixture of loss results. The fans weren't too happy because there was not a real consistency.
Why the heck am i talking about soccer hmm this just reminds me of the process that is going on in the soccer club. They had to hire various staff with specialist skill sets and its an ongoing process. Their vision is to be a team that can truly be legendary to take on the big champs.
On that note be legendary and make it so!

since all the game drama of late an keep seeing Grummz in some posts what if we have him chat with zackrawrr AKA asmongold about random subjects.. blizz or new subjects 
an maybe a little show case too for em8er if all parties are willing because am sure he did try out firefall for abit but ya so much WoW... since many other games are dropping like flys only 4 games have my interest at the moment just hope this will good since i find the game Inc is gong like Hollywood just plane an boring \/... only peace when it's a dead bug

A chief chat featuring special guest Asmongold or any others to check & try out the Kickstarter with the community then that could bring more interest from their channel & to Em8er.
Would also see what their initial thoughts on the current KS and its potential.

ya indeed got to make sure on impressions but then we had that little show with *Jeremy* the quartering not long after me posting that xD even it's was just a chat for other things still nice to see since the helldivers down voters might do same to us

I came back here after seeing Grummz on ENDYMIONtv's YouTube video.
Looks like not much / nothing is been done ever since I went on a hiatus (Been away now for almost 3 years). Em8er has gone with this idea of maybe entering kickstarter now for many many years. Maybe I need to consider all my hundreds of dollars that I've spent of "exclusive" FOMO deals many years ago towards Em8er as long gone. But maybe I'll get my money worth eventually some times in the future potentially.
I almost even forgot about Em8er as a thing. Maybe that was the play also, but who knows. I'm just ranting at this point.
I still believe that Em8er has a potential to be awesome, but people age, org members pass away and young people become older.
I'd love to help with more funding, but I will not join FOMO deals. Can't wait to slay monsters with waifus!

I think it's safe to say that healty game development is long overdue. But it's like Grummz mentioned from the ENDYMIONtv video. Some money has strings attached, making the game development unhealthy.

I am not a fan of the idea of wearing mechs all the time when you step out into the world. I really wanted something more like firefall. But, I still can't wait for it to be done. Maybe he can implement it in a way that I can enjoy it. Not sure. If the game turns out to be great I'll be the first to admit I was wrong. He did manage to make my ultimately favorite game, Firefall. So, I will always give him a chance. For sure Ill back it when it comes out.

I think folks still keep an eye out not as much as some others, still i'd really like for this to happen because we want a good game plus i am still anticipating to ride a bike!
Welcome back for the short time!
This made me think of a little game called solar jetman if the space ship blew up you could use your little jetpack and continue on. Was tough because carrying things tend to be much harder without the space ship. Anyway it is not in the same league but one of many little games that i liked on my nes even when it was frustrating at times

There seems to be a battle going on effecting movies, games and our work life.
I am wondering if we are all in a matrix simulation at this moment in time because this is very worrying.
Also like to see Em8er game with the full support and in the game include a height adjuster.
So i can be a small shrimp equivalent to a garden gnome. I am honored in representing the gnome community who may be panda's but may not be and live in various parts of the world including this forum.
If you do not include such height adjuster you are a heightist if that is a word and i will call my fellow shorties to storm in!!! Just kidding but it would be extremely fun to do that especially in a convention

the Light frame is going to be very similar to the Firefall frames; minimal mechanical coverage. (Fist attachments are also optional).
