Not really, Defiance system has vertical progression. Things get better and stronger.
Official information on Ember is: " Progression is horizontal, opening up more options and abilities and gameplay. "
Horizontal progression means we wont be getting stronger/better stats and gear.
Instead we...
Whoa. You misunderstood entirely. The point is that there is no simple equation like that.
The level of difficulty/depth a person likes in their game does not indicate their overall level of maturity/success in real life.
At the risk of sounding like I'm hounding you (Which I am not. lol) I have more to say on this.
Looking to avoid challenge from the entertainment medium of video games isn't necessarily a sign of immaturity. In some cases it certainly is, in other cases it is simply a person who has had enough...
We know there is progression, a way to earn new weapons and abilities. Xp is a progression mechanic. It can just as easily be used to unlock new side grades in a horizontal progression system as it could be used to unlock upgrades in a vertical progression system. Though I know Grummz was...
Personally I am open to a fully classless system as well as a set of classes as long as each class has a lot of customization within it.
Moreover roles get created ether way. Not necessarily roles that fall into mmo standards, but there are concepts that exist in battlefields of all kinds. More...
For her I would wear the spiderman suit and never take it off....well not all the way off....:)
(I'm kidding. Though I wouldn't mind getting my girl in this outfit.)
Yes, you understand. We can talk about the positives and negatives of a perma-break gear in a vacuum for academic purposes, but the full truth is how everything works in concert together. In the case of Ember, the benefits of a perma-break system exist in the combination of having both things...
Hello there.
This is often a tricky subject as the terms "Adult" or "objectionable" are open to interpretation.
Each of us will come to our own conclusions on what we are comfortable putting in each category.
In the case of this forum, the intent of the TOS is meant to stop the showcasing of...
Marks words from the indeagogo campaign page regarding this issue are-
"
Durability: Items will not break, but will need to be repaired (at less resource cost than what it was to make).
"
As you can see it is already in the plan. Let me add that from a mathematical perspective, depending on...
eh? I'm not suggesting there is an existing combat model or that anyone necessarily suggested an aim down sights style combat model. I'm simply voicing my preferences for how the game's combat model should be built.
Xp is a progression mechanic. It can just as easily be used to unlock new sidegrades in a horizontal progression system as it could be used to unlock upgrades in a vertical progression system.
Though I know Grummz was considering using resources to unlock things instead of xp. It will be...
Personally my main concern is that Ember's combat model reflects a more fast paced, arena-esque, old school shooter style.
However recoil fits into that is fine as long as it doesn't become an "aim down sights" style game if you know what I mean.
Since those videos were put out in 2013, a time when certain departures from Grummz original vision were happening, there is a certain amount of uncertainty on how accurately these videos represent the original concept of firefall.
Perhaps Grummz will shed some light on that if and when he has...

In the rare occasion where a post is deleted it is due to it being pure personal...
