    Idea for "Death"

Why do people want seriously complex death/respawn animations when there should be as little downtime as possible for the player so they can get back into the action and back to what they are doing as quickly as possible? It makes the most sense that Death and Respawn are treated as gameplay...

Not fond of the name of the alien species

Back in WW2 Germans (iirc) referred to americans as Yanks/Yankee (actually most everyone called the Americans that). Germans were often times referred to as Jerry, Krautz, Fritz, Heinies, depending on the nation fighting them and the time period during the war.

    Keeping the science in sci-fi

No, that is still basically auto aiming for the player. Instead of figuring out where to aim themselves they aim at the box/arrow ahead of the target. Only missing when the target decides to stop moving causing the lead box to change. You see it quite often in air combat games, there was also a...

    Keeping the science in sci-fi

That was mainly to get around the main weakness of AoE weapons in that game: Enemies that were immune to all damage that does not directly hit their weakspot. Especially those enemies with what amounted to a big glowing ass for a weakspot as their head that required a direct hit even inflict...

    Keeping the science in sci-fi

We should avoid auto-aiming functions on player weapons as much as possible. As that removes skill, as well as more then a healthy dose of challenge. Such functions also wind up becoming the go to for 90% of the people out there as they would rather be lazy then learn to aim. If I got a rocket...

    Keeping the science in sci-fi

And Homing missiles are restricted by their ability to turn. One good afterburner puts you beyond its turning radius where it can plow into the ground or you can just go behind a rock tower so the missile hits the rock instead of you. If it throws out scatter bombs people can just get into the...

    Keeping the science in sci-fi

Telegraphs are needed in a tab target MMO that tries to force players to stand still to "cast" to both give the boss a shot at actually hitting people and let those casters who are stuck in place upwards of 3 seconds an opportunity to try to evade without being screwed over by their design. In...

    Is consistency important to you?

Ladders or trap doors are better for underwater breath pockets then the fence. Also good for clearing water out of sunken temples. Silly minecraft and its absolute block rules that lets it distort physics.

    Is consistency important to you?

The fence they were referencing is in minecraft though. At least it works both ways. You cannot jump over it, and the zombies cannot either.

Monkeylord's AA missiles are not that much better. Fatboy is never without an escort, it makes them! Besides, Stealth does not help much with Omnisensor towers everywhere (which are needed to get the most out of a Fatboy).

    Idea for "Death"

Canonically we never die in Borderlands. Death and Respawn are for gameplay purposes, and the money drain is part of the punishment for dying in the first place, at least until you got enough money you do not need to even care. This is also to answer "Why does Handsome Jack not just turn off...

Why the monkeylord? That thing was meh compared to something like the Fatboy. For those who do not know it.. I present to you the Fatboy: This beast of a machine features 12 battleship class gauss cannons mounted in 4 turrets, each with a reload time of 1 second. Allowing it to pummel any...

Just let me walk into an arcade to play a Crixia turn based spaceship strategy game against bots or other players. Could be something as simple as Battleship.

    Idea for "Death"

The omniframe does not even have a seat. We stand in it. Also the design has its flight capable systems in the upper body. So it would not be able to eject us anywhere. We should just do a Borderlands. Canonically we never die. Death and Respawn is only for gameplay reasons.

    The Omniframe Revealed

Typical anime design is basically Science Fantasy or really really light Science Fiction. While a good chunk of it runs on Rule of Cool or Rule of Fanservice, other chunks do have a decent bit of (attempted) science behind it. Actually @Grummz are you aiming more for Science Fantasy or what...

is it time for F2P players to pack the bags and leave?

Mark Kern is trying to aim for a price of 30-40$, which should be quite affordable. It can be maybe that if we get into Steam Early Access the price could be lower perhaps? Many early access games have a lower starting price that grows as the game reaches a more complete state.
