What happened to FF?

Hi all,
I was an avid fan of Firefall and noticed that it was shutdown. In fact, I wrote a book called "Battleframe" that had it's original inspiration from the game. So what happened to FireFall and is this going be the new FireFall?

To make it simple, The9, the company that owned Red5 fucked up 2 years ago by doing some things they shouldn't have, like booting mark kern(the original CEO who had the idea of this game) out of development. It's gone downhill from this point and well yeah. All the devs have been released now and there's nobody left to work on firefall. And this is going to be the spiritual successor of firefall, or in other words, "firefall done right" Mark is leading this.

yeah neither the forums or the games have any management left. I've heard some people say there's threads with porn images but since there's no mods to stop that it stays, didn't check for the simple reason that i've never been on the firefall forums

Not sure if you heard but I published my book, Battleframe on Amazon (both Kindle and printed). I had a blast writing it and I'm a good way through book two. I was always surprised that Red 5 never embraced fan innovations like your Tshirts and my book......it was actually really sad.

meh... firefall went down the road for me when they releases the 1.4 PTS patch. They accidentally fucked up the tanks and in the 1.5 patch the tanks were tankier again.. but even a biotech could tank more dmg than they did... and i heard 1.6 was teh biggest of the disasters... but i had my mini mac already then, wasn't able to play it anymore xD

that because they fired their last 2 rangers with FadedPez and a number of devs a month ago or so.

The person that used red5admin wasn't working as a dev anymore and was told to monitor the forums. He actually admitted to it. I suspect he wasn't being paid as much either for this job since he barely did much and the fact that it's a default admin account explains why his posts don't show up in dev tracker. All the people that knew how do that got fired.

Even when they had the last 2 Rangers... they were so backlogged that they had literally had thousands of tickets to process.
Way too many for only 2 people. They did their best though.

Well, it's like this. The concept was great. The9 bought into the game and that is where the game was infected with a disease that eventually took the life of Red5. Had we been told in 2010 that The9 was going to bend the concept over and show it the Beijing Surprise, it never would have made it out of Beta as the community would have left before it even got a chance to grow.

Once upon a time long a go firefall blossomed into a fine game, with beautiful scenes and the Copacabana tourists safe in their little paradise.

Until........... an unknown corp beyond the chosen creeped in corrupting the once beautiful world as the pixels fluctuated and began screaming on our screens.

The citizens mysteriously vanished one by one from time and space with some rumors spread about an alien abduction!
Sometime passed by and a message appeared it captured us drawing us towards it for the Copacabana people to find a new home

The home was very small, needed more flowers some ambient lighting hmm its home neither the less
Take a sip of wiki wacker sitting down greeted by the new and familiar faces

and so it was an end to one paradise and a beginning of another!

No mods in that forum. FadedPez was the only one willing to keep asking his bosses on what information he can pass on to the community. Whomever that was posting on red5admin might not even be there anymore.

It seems to have some scripts running to do stuff without their direct control.
Like the auto censuring of The9, Red5 (except for the emoticon.. you can still use :red5: last time I checked which was a month ago), Ember, etc.
They got a limit to how fast you can post. 2 minutes or something.

Mainly all that's occurring now on those forums is the few new people that are asking why they can't log in after buying the game on steam or people that are wondering why support never answered them or why certain forums have stopped existing...They get answers from vets and nothing from anyone working at Red5/The9.

Just popping in to say hi, I only played FF briefly on steam after it had already crashed and burned, but I am very excited reading about Ember!

One of the other things i enjoyed was the updates,live stream & guest appearances.
It made it fun and engaged the community while realizing how the folks are just like us a bit wacky too!

To be honest, they can ban me, i don't care anymore. The9 destroyed Firefall so what they thinking? I will follow the rules on forums of game which is dead allready?

Also i must rant here little bit.

I hoped, that for FF some temporary replacement was going Trinum Wars, but devs announced, that 31 august game will be shut down.

So i give up and waiting now for ember. Meanwhile i playing for killing time WoW. I am not planing back in future to Warframe, because Digital Extreme is an dissapointing devs. Titania quest which they added lately, is 2.0 Sands Of Inaros quest.

My apologies.....it wasn't actually meant to be an advert. I was trying to express that FireFall had really inspired me to write my first scifi book. My friend and I went to play it the other day and found we couldn't get the code to get back in....so much for being a founder.
