Short answer: game is far from launch.
Concise answer:
There are pre-alpha builds currently available to backers who have bought newcomer packs.
A new pre-alpha build that adds skim mode (a movement ability) and weapon updates is promised to release to backers by the end of this month.
There are a few more assets that need to be added and play tested before releasing a build that will coincide and promote the Kickstarter campaign.
A date for full release of the game is not possible as there is much to do and money to accrue for the development costs. Em8er can not extrapolate how soon launch will be until their crowdfunding campaign is received and budgeted.

Everything @Thorp mentioned above still stands.
The team is currently working towards the Playable Mockup and the Invasion event/movie. Once those are done, they move to the kickstarter, which is planned for sometime this year.
Everything after that depends on how successful the ks will be. This includes any alpha/beta and launch. As such, it's nigh impossible to give even a vague, forget specific, idea of when the launch happens.
