Hi Road!!
I completely agree there needs to be a volume/sound option in-game. For now you can control the sound by using Windows' Volume Mixer settings.

I would HIGHLY recommend leaving your feedback for the Dev Team on the thread for the most recent test build - The Rift Demo. Here's the link:
