Very glad to see @Ronyn keeping up with all you folks :) He's doing an awesome job and letting me concentrate on the game. But I do read these threads!

The art style will be interesting. We will attempt blending photorealistic armor with stylized bodies, faces and skin shaders/hair. Won't know fully if it will work until we try it. But Appleseed: Deus Ex Machina shows it might be possible.

Distributing the simulation is one thing. The real issue is the cost. Its no good to throw more CPUs at it when every CPU costs you a lot of money to rent in the cloud. Also, the bandwidth issues are real. I've spoken to these guys (Improbable tech) and they could not tell me if it was cost...
