Since there is no PvP in Em-8ER, frames will be balanced for fun vs the computer AI, not for fairness against each other. This is part of what makes Em-8ER much easier to balance, faster to produce, and more fun in PvE.

We keep costs down by keeping the animation rigs for legs the same. If we created different legs, each would require its own unique set of dozens of animations. Cool mechs tho!

In any system like this, player's can create anything cool or anything that's an eyesore. Hard to control what they mix and match. However, heavy styles will only work with heavy frames, and light styles will only work with light frames.

Gambling at the NPC R&D division will be RNG though, as it is gambling. High risk, slim chance of high reward...great drain on economy :) But nobody will be required to gamble on R&D to be effective at game. Esp because of how we are going to weave a skill factor into all weapons and abilities.

No, Em-8ER focus is not RNG. There will, of course, be some RNG, but nobody like a grind lottery.

Honestly, I've been putting most of the time into Ember. But when I get to the backstory it will also be in the TTRPG book. The Tabletop has to have its own separate KS and we'll need to gather some interest there before we do that.
