I would like to propose and request support for a Companion App

Em8er will have crafting timers
Player bases are always under threat of attack
The Em8er world is under a constant push & pull

A Companion app could give players a connection the world of Em8er while logged out.

First and foremost the app would display recent map information about the warfronts, player base health, player base construction, the player's base CE accumulation. And to expand on ideas perhaps the app could also allow ingame DMs to assist in communication between guild members.

I don't believe players should be able to do everything from the app; players do need incentives to log in. Things like queuing the crafting tree may not be something the app would offer though a compromise could be reached to allow players to queue X items per X hours.

I recall back in the FF days a companion app was fantasized about. I dreamed of the ability for Guild Leaders to be able to provide supply drops with a companion app.

In conclusion, I would like to offer my efforts in developing such an app. I have been using Unreal for 3+ years and making an app for Em8er would be sweet.

like I was saying in the discord chat, (but i'll put it here too just in case yah know) Warframe has a good companion app that allows players to check in on things while they are away from the computer. while you couldn't necessarily help in war efforts per say, being the type of game warframe is. Em8er on the other hand could possibly benefit from a slight assist function in a mobile app. For example maybe if there was a region war happening in a specific building or compound, mobile watchers could assist in building small turrets to aid those actually in game. they won't get the full reward pool like a regular player would, But maybe give them something regular players might not be able to get like chances to get exclusive cosmetics from helping the war efforts and what not. So while there will be a big incentive to just log in and play the game players who are at work, or out for a bit can log in via the app and still gain cool rewards and maybe even some exp so they don't have to worry about missing out on everything.

I would totally love something similar to this, but obviously im just spurtin off ideas and ultimately its the dev teams thoughts that go. but damn I could roll with a companion app. :O

I also hope that this app could also be used not just on mobile, tablet but also on computers too.

Could this app provide support vehicle manufacturing and to send them out to those who really could use them.

Once they used the vehicle and have finished the player comms back on the hud then a notification appears on the app either to return it back to the base or help someone else out.

There is a risk of losing this vehicle but if you plan the route and take into account the tactical information on the app there is less of a chance.

Vehicles can be supported with npc's and ammo supplies etc depending on what vehicle you intend to send out some could be just apc's that are there for stranded pilots that are waiting to get their meks back or have no meks at the moment.

Crafting timers? I dont recall anything like that during firefall Beta.. Was this something done after Grummz left and they started screwing everything up? The year I played it was get the right resources, go to the crafting station and BAM.. done.
When I hear "crafting timers" I automatically think-predatory mobile games.
In my opinion just as bad as loot boxes... A cheap gimmick to pad out the game or in some instances push you to buy something so not to wait.

Actually I could think of a few uses for a companion app beyond just resources. Another use could be that players can man tactical weapon platforms, things that don't require a first person mode. For example players could man localized howitzer type platforms, using a screen to target in on player requests. Or for even more destructive power players could man weaponized satellites. Using a google maps type approach an "offline" player on the companion app could respond to requests for a few mass movers on heavy tactical positions. How about aircraft, could a companion app possibly allow players to control airlift capabilities?

Yes there were crafting times. You could spend Red Beans for instant gratification though. Remember that FF was a F2P game so there were some mechanics within it for monetization purposes. Crafting times was one of those.

The 1st vid was done about 10 months prior to my being in closed beta (start at the 4 minute mark). The 2nd vid shows a similar but updated UI (August 2012) which is the one I believe was used up to March 2013, about a month after I started playing FF, when crafting got a major update (the infamous 0.6 patch; 3rd vid). However it appears that up to 0.6 most, if not all, crafting was a 20 second timer which is why you probably remember no crafting times whereas I didn't recall that since it was like that only for a few weeks. :)
