Pet Kaiju Defence System!

I remember seeing some games where some cities had some kind of “god” that was the city protector, where the citizens gave offerings and sacrifices to make their “god” happy.
(Spoiler) In the Godzilla last movie, they actually helped it to fight the other.

In Em8er we have some kaiju controlled by tsi-hu and other free kaiju roaming the world.
What if we had a building in our base where it has a kaiju (or birth by an egg or tamed in a special event by players) and players donate resources not only to make that building bigger but also to feed the kaiju to make it growing stronger and bigger but also creating armour and weaponry to equip it.
And in big events with big kaiju invading, the base could send it to the fight to help players.

What do you think?

Interesting idea. I doubt it would be a Kaiju though since Kaiju, free or not, will be an adversary of ours and if they have and we have them peeps may get confused and start shooting the wrong one. Perhaps a defense THMPR of sorts could be a good one as mechs would definitely be seen as on our side?

What if it was not a kaiju or a thumpr but a reaper its actually a unknown energy but takes form of a reaper so that everyone knows the god/goddess has an aura like a super saiyan 1000'000 and everyone knows because of its aura.

The funny thing is this god/goddess is not big at all but grows strong with the other reaper's presence. However if one dies or hurts the god/goddess is affected!

The god can be a goddess vice versa it is just at random.

What if it was not a kaiju or a thumpr but a reaper its actually a unknown energy but takes form of a reaper so that everyone knows the god/goddess has an aura like a super saiyan 1000'000 and everyone knows because of its aura.

Perhaps go play one of these if you wanna have/be a god/goddess. :)

My idea was more like: every base had a kaiju mascot that every player can visit and help feeding, and if enemies get too close from that base (invasions, thumping…) it helps fight them to get experience points and eat their bodies, and if its health drop below 25% it retreats back to base.

My idea was more like: every base had a kaiju mascot that every player can visit and help feeding, and if enemies get too close from that base (invasions, thumping…) it helps fight them to get experience points and eat their bodies, and if its health drop below 25% it retreats back to base.
So do we have normal pets and this is a special pet for special events?

What if this mascot pet hibernate and re-energize after each big event as a small mascot kaiju it is tough work and after big events and big feeds must go and chill.

In this case it grows bigger (from Cat 0 to 5 or the max) and will be a base/community pet and not personal pet, but i like that idea of hibernating/relax as a cooldown to self-heal, and if it dies it drops 1 Cat.

Although you can only choose to be apart of one team. So this would be like the Pokemon Go teams, and then at a certain time of month/year each time comes together in a huge world wide event like the olympics for Em8er. Then they have their team kaiju fight the other team kaijus in a tournament style battle. Depending on what place a teams kaiju lands in, the teams would get varying types of rewards, for 1st-3rd or 4th.

This would be server side and completely random each time, granting the winning team some rare gear, a skin of sorts, maybe some premium money, etc... but before this tournament, maybe each team has a chance to go on a weekly/daily mission that rewards the players with kaiju feed. this powers up the kaiju, either in health, power or speed. so you can choose to add a 0.1% addition to damage to make your team kaiju just a tad stronger than the other teams. this could add up the more players do these missions and help the team.

This could be a pretty sweet idea for a monthly kaiju fight event. Possibly streamed in game so players can tune in to see who's team is on top this time around.

This would be alot of fun added to the usual happening of em8er also what if they could have a mode
of game where you have to wack the life crystals off the other kaiju mascots back.

Weapon of choice is melee type a bigger classic thumpr firefall hammer

You would be in an arena/obstacle course protecting your kaiju's life resources each team Kaiju is carrying 7 if your kaiju wacked on the back

- lose 1 life crystal.

- If push out of the arena/obstacle you lose 2 life crystal

- life crystals can be dropped on purpose as bait for a nice trap ahh

- if it is tag team, life crystals can be thrown to other team mate kaiju but a chance can be intercepted and stolen.

- Several reward crystals could fall from the sky randomly these crystals are not life crystals but give you a chance for prizes at the end. (Watch out though the sneaky kaiju might wack you on the Back )


That means each base has 3 kaiju mascots/teams so players could choose which one to support.
In the base it means 3 different buildings or all 3 living in the same building.
Yes they could all meet up later in the same building like a meeting point for accepting the challenge! Before the events begin and go to their separate buildings to plan tactical things and figure the right kit to use so the other team cannot hear what is going on in others building.

All I have to say is let me kill a kaiju and then use what is left it to make a mecha version of it. For example.
An example

If Robo kaiju elminated = parts for better thumpr mallet head and electro charge (electrical zaps and big hits with thumper hammer.

If Kaiju eliminated = parts for ice breathe and mega stomp (Icey cold breath and big stompy pain)


If mascot kaiju eliminated = parts for Power smack and whip lash tail (Big smack hits and tail whip for trips)

It could be cool if like in other monster hunting games you could target different body parts of the kaiju to break them off or damage them so they no longer work. This way if you know the base you are at needs this body part complete their mecha kaiju than you would have to try and find a way to kill it without doing to much damage to that body part. Or if you do to much damage to you than you can just bring back a lot of them so the R&D people could try to Frankenstein all the damaged parts into a working one. This way both the scalpels and sledgehammers have path to help building it.

P.s.
Scalpels are people who focus on accuracy and precision when they fight. Things like snipers, assassins, and spec-ops.
Sledgehammers are people who focus on brute force and overwhelming odds when they fight. People use things like spray-and-pray tactics and really don't care to much about collateral damage. Or they use large numbers to their advantage, like stormtroopers.

If it takes 100 peeps to bring down the Kaiju and that group is mostly randoms that continue to grow as peeps hear about it and join in...good like with focused fire.
Well that is where communication is key to how well the raid goes. We could do something like marking targets to let people know where to aim. In some games where different body parts do different amounts of damage there is a system where point can highlight those spots not just for themselves but for other players too. So what if we could highlight parts in a different color and/or pattern as way to tell other players to avoid hitting that spot?

This also ties into how in some other games where you can target and break or damage different parts of the enemy's body they it would change how the fight goes. For example, in some games where you fight dragons different abilities and movements are linked to parts of it's body. So if you are able to break or cut off it's wing(s) it can no longer use them to fly or making power air blast to push you away. If you break or cut off it's tail it can no longer use it's tail as weapon to hit you with, and it might also throw off it's since of balance going by the design of the dragon (remember in real life there are many animals that use their tails for balance when moving around). If you break it's legs no only do you limit it's movement but also make it much harder for it to try and stomp on and claw at you. If you damage the it's fire gland enough then it can no longer breath fire at you. And of course the AI of the dragon changes based not only on how much health it has but also by what body parts it can still use. This made the fights much more fun and realistic. Because just like when fighting a real animal, aiming for the right spot makes all the difference. After all, if you don't grab snake by its true neck than it can still turn around and bit your hand.

We could do something like marking targets to let people know where to aim
So would it be something where you just aim and press a button and it would mark it like that?

Could marking with a certain weapon be done just like the pain gunner medic from global agenda or even a recon who could highlight certain area with more precision focus due to its vision, firing a embedded device etc

A little issue is lets say there are multiple folks marking would the duplicate marking be just place on the same as say another person who has marked the same/similar spot.
E.g. say Point A was marked 23 times would this appear with something like X-23 x as the marker and 23 for the number of times it has been marked by 23 people.

If everyone marked it at random points would you just aim at all of the points marked i guess.

An example not to do with enemy marking but in warframe someone would mark a point as if there was something there but when you turn up there is nothing. When an item was marked or even a friendly who looked like an enemy then that would appear a symbol e.g. friendly, or the marked object as argon crystal, so as an example:

Many are marking the target and suddenly one of the markings has an added symbol or the marking changes colour next to it after targetting that area which could reveal it's weak point or a shield type etc etc

That way just because people are going to mark its also good to look out for the signs of the opponent and the visual clues such as symbols, or the change of pattern on its armor/skin, even the noise it could make might change etc etc

Then i was wondering what if a kaiju who could change its structure would the weak points change position and would this encourage not just blasting it but to study the creature too with scans and enough encounters for the mek to provide previous data of encountered kaiju for recommending points of interest.

Since there could be a variety of them it will still be alittle tricky i would imagine because of the different biomes and environments influencing the creatures that inhabit each of them.

That is a good point and is something that needs to be thought about before hand. But the idea of layering pinged marks also makes into like a voting system. So if you was join a fight in the middle of it and don't know the other player and stuff with a simple look at the marks you can tell that they voted on attacking this spot(s) over the others. So you can start attacking those areas too without worry of mess up their goals. So let's say you see 12 marks on the head and 5 marks on the tail. You know that the group is only focused on those two areas for some reason and that the head is the main target with the tail being a secondary target.

And having different icons for different things just helps to make things easier. For example, when it comes to targeting data. Let's just say the medics, recons, and engineers have better sensors and tools to tell what something is made out of. And so when they mark an enemy there can be a little icon also telling you what type of damage works best on that enemy. Like for example, some types of armor are strong against slashing attacks but weak to piercings attacks. So they know to use weapons that do piercings damage to get pass the shield and/or armor. Marking objects is simple as you just need to show of the name of what was marked and maybe and icon it too.

As for enemies that can change shape and move their weak points around. A good example of this would be fighting higher slimes in some games. You see in some games there are different types of slime monsters, and one of the smartest and hardest ones to fight are ones with a core. You see a core acts like an all-in-one organ, it is both the brain and reproductive organ of the slime. Because of how important it is the slime knows that it must protect that part of itself at all costs if it wants to live. So when fighting them they are smart enough to move their core around to keep it our of danger. Some even going as far as to hide their core inside of objects while it is fighting you. But despite the core given these type of slime higher thinking abilities and in some cases even smart enough to use magic, it is also the only thing you need to aim for to end a fight as soon as possible. Often times in nature the thing that gives you strength can also be your greatest weakness. After all, humans might be the smartest animals but that also comes at the cost of our brains needing more energy to work, so we need to more food stay alive just because our brains take up so much energy even while we are sleeping.

What if we did wipe out 98% of the enemy but a little escaped because it broke down into several bugs for self preservation. Would there be such a tool like a Disrupter to unlink the communication of the hive mind bugs because the energy weapons seemed to give it more power.

Just like you mentioned in the game hide and seek the missing enemy is now in survival mode and if it escapes the next time we encounter it will adapt by e.g.

- Attack by ambush reapers with 1 of them as bait first
- lure reaper into a nest
- Replicate as one of the reaper npc as a trick
etc etc

That would make for a good common enemy for all the factions in the game to have because it is a threat to everyone. Because it has the risk of a gray goo scenario or sentient virus that could end all life. So when those things are found it is like an unspoken agreement that everyone band together until they are dealt with first.

It is like if there was an zombie outbreak in the middle of a war zone. I don't care who's side you are on, you all band together to kill the zombies first and only after that do you go back fighting each other.

You see this idea play out media all the time and in some games too. Examples being the Infested in Warframe, the Filth in The Secret World, the Borg in StarTrak, the Daleks in Doctor Who, and so on.
