Okay, Joe textured and baked out the Omniframe. It is DONE. We will be passing this to the riggers/animators next week. Joe did a terrific job. He is also going to be tweaking the color to fit our snow/lava scene better in the coming days.

We also have been tuning the Kaiju concept, adding a rearing stance to fight the THMPR. We've also added some shield generators to the back that players will be able to shoot at:

Thanks for tuning in! We'll post better lit beauty shots of the Omniframe in its new color scheme next time.

Sometimes there isn't much to report when you are in head's down mode in development.

We are dealing with some unglamorous parts of game development. This means the Omniframe is going through mask prepwork for texturing, and that the humans are getting a redo of some of their UV maps.

Animators and Riggers are waiting for final scale and low-polys before animating. I'm also getting ready to chip into modeling simple things by brushing up on Modo and Substance Painter myself. No sense in having Joe make rocks, for example. His talent would be wasted :)

Meanwhile Michael Bross has graciously agreed to help not only with music but with sound FX work for the playable mockup. Ekiator is also readying a server based on Unreal 4.18 with its improvements to muliplayer. While the playable mockup won't have mutiplayer, we are working on a server for post-KS needs.

That's about it for now. Thanks for tuning in!

But I thought that part of the game was that we are not 100% relaying on the Omniframes to do battle. That even while outside of the frames we could fight. If that is the case, than as long as we can still put up a good fight without the frames than a longer wait time is not really a problem.
To answer that: While the players can get out of the frames we will find ourselves very squishy and generally not a match for the enemies on Em-8ER. Exactly what kind of actions and arsenal the character can use outside of the omniframe is still being decided, but at this stage no one should be expecting to have much capability to be effective in combat outside of the frames (or outside of the other vehicles if and when they get added).

Think of it this way. the main purpose of being able to get out of the Omniframe your in is to go get into another one.
