Since planet have no organic life its not generate advanced materials , only basic ones enough to start terraforming chain and bases to sustain human life , point its you can add bit survive element here Oxygen managment

Constructiong of this public bases and terraforming machinery is made by community goal , one concept pretty simple in fact Community Goals | Elite Dangerous Wiki | Fandom , Everytime AI Director need something big , build new base , construct new Defensive towers or Rail Network they come with Community Goals , in other hands if they need just like 30 weapon to gear up soldier its minor quest(with time limit) , random generate and can be finish to one people, but hey not get sidetrack here

While us try terraforming planet to make Earth Alike

While us figth to see if how archive dominance first , at some point planet start develop they own satient life and its that generate new resource that both us want to improve you skills

When both nodes (AI nodes and Our Node) collide its generate one warfront

Its who i imagine nodes , and interlink of nodes and eventual clash on way bigger scale in fact... and lets kudos for third faction that metion early can be Planet itself for lore cocern or like PS2 lore , you have purple that want be friends with alien and etc etc

Whole point its archive something dynamic , with player interaction or without player interaction game keep constant shift and move , and player its not like GOD that do as please

As said on top END GOAL is archive terraforming and move to next planet(xpac?) you can archive this Eliminate enemy or control and develop most part of planet , with planet work as balance force (AI director)

Biomes....
I comment in craft section about multiples biomes fews more easy others more hard to diversify and encourage horizontal progression

No Man Sky did pretty good on this , they just lack variety of elements its awalys heath/cold/toxin/

But more important note about biomes is
Atmospheric Events

Its dynamic nature events that work as balance force or content when warfront get stuck or areas that considered safe.... or as counter force when we finish archive end game goals

  • Firestorms
    • Occur on extreme temperature worlds
    • Fire will damage players if they get too close
    • Fire dissipates after a storm subsides
  • Gravitational Event
    • Occur on anomalous planets
    • Will exhibit sudden low-gravity shifts on the planet's surface
  • Lightning
    • Can occur with any storm
    • Can occasionally strike the ground near the player and cause damage
  • Meteor Showers
    • Can occur independently of a storm at the horizon, or as it's own event close to the player
    • Meteoroids can damage the player, with the strike zone being indicated with a red circle on the planet's surface
  • Tornadoes
    • Can rarely occur with storms, and is indicated with an "extreme wind event" Exosuit warning
    • Will pick up nearby players and creatures
