Hey, that's a great thing to do. Was never a founder myself (just a grizzled veteran), but that's way above board. Thanks for thinking of us. :-) And nice job Xeevis!
What continually startled me about Firefall's Red Bean Store was how little was available that people were actually interested in. For a game that would live or die by the FTP model, they made almost no effort to monetize anything. And the few things they did offer for real money only were...
Well, I would hope I'm not falling into the toxic category. But the simple fact of the matter is that the game has been abandoned. The server is running, but there is no support and no development (actually I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out why the server is up)
The only real problem with elite ranks was the uncapped nature of the stat-boosts. Had they capped the effects at 20% or so, there would have been no issue.
Realistically you have to have something to keep the maxed players interested.
The afk farming in Firefall right now is primarily a reflection of the fact that there is a vastly diminished player population, a dying game, and precious little content at the high end. Why put actual effort into playing?
There are still a few things to tinker with (no pun intended), but it's...
Frankly whoever owns Firefall at this point can't blame their players for longing for better shores.
The game abandoned it's players, not the other way around.
Must have:
Afterburner
Vehicles
Cool-sounding Fauna-based frame names
Some innate squad or platoon-building interface resembling Boing
If Jetpacks, some kind of verticality to the game (still want to see that 2.0 city level)
Pets that are nigh-impossible to obtain (just to annoy Ralzyn)
Must...
1. Afterburner
2. Inferno Dash (the result of combining this and Afterburner was just sad, unfortunately)
3. Multi-turret (with deployment mods)
4. Triage (still boggles the mind that they just junked this one.... a run buff combined with a support skill... was awesome in HC missions)
5. Evacute...
I started playing Firefall about the time of the Steam official release. Prior to that I had an account during the beta but I barely played (hardware wasn't up to the task). Was introduced to FF by a friend who was one of the founders, although he hardly played after release.
Found a good...
