The much needed translation for the "Wizard" battlesuit's description in the Knight Tabletop RPG

Would you like to see a light omniframe specialisation similar to this?

Here's the original french version, i'll translate it from left to right, i'll remove the "overdrives" part because it's pointless.

Characteristics :
Armor : 1 star
Forcefield (damage ignored) : 5 stars (highest)
Energy pool : 4 stars
Abilities :
-Borealis mode
-Oriflame mode

Description :
Merlin has worked for months on an armor usefull in combat situations and efficient when facing the Anathema, She has since proved herself in numerous theatres of operations in multiple sections, notably those who go in contact with the Horror. The Borealis mode allows the manipulation of plasma, covering weapons with it or throwing it at enemies. The Oriflame mode, on the other hand, allows to the set off an explosion of bright light, definitely hurting dark creatures. Many Knights finally claim that their peers in meta-armor Wizard are formidable vectors of hope and that some even succeed at annihilating the wrong gnawing the desperate. Some unexpected applications, but more than welcome.

This thread shows off the Wizard meta armor from the "Knight" tabletop RPG, it's concept and abilities could potentially be used as a light omniframe specialisation, the circles on the armor are where the plasma comes from, allowing for REALLY cool designs, especially for the omniframe which will have much more room for customisation. I'll let you imagine what it would look like.

Let your opinions and ideas flow in the comments below and as always keep it friendly!

I like the idea of the malleable plasma. Not sure how it would work in a gun focused game like Em-8ER, but I really like this bit.

Thank you for sharing and translating it!

So i'll show the french versions, translate them from left to right and remove the "overdrive" parts just like last time, starting with Warrior (The class I picked when playing) upload_2017-6-9_21-10-6.png

Characteristics :
Armor : 4 stars
Forcefield : 1 star
Energy pool : 2 stars
Abilities :
- The "types" (see description)

Description :

The Warrior was the first meta-armor created by the Knight. She is known for being versatile, defined as such by her capacities and her standard equipment. Effective at ranged combat thanks to a cutting-edge aiming system, she is also fearsome in Close combat, since she allows her wearer to have strength superior to that of a standard human added to a good reacting speed. But more importantly, the Warrior meta-armor has different <<types>> interchangeable in a few seconds only, which offer her different possiblities depending on which one is chosen. The Hunter type, for exemple, offers more ease in combat while the Soldier type offer a better power and resistance. It's up to the Knight to choose the right type depending on the situation.

On a personnal note from opinion and experience, The Warrior armor is a good choice for those who want to be a good all-rounder and replace any team member who might fall in combat or become unable to perform his duty. I also think it looks fairly similar to WH40K terminator armor or default power armor, more like a mix of both. This armor is especially powerfull with the Jump module installed, giving it insane mobility, which in turn also gives you the role of being the team's "scout" and eye in the sky. I once used my jump pack to jump and grab a flying enemy's bottom, grabbed my whole bundle of 5 grenades, punched them into his body and let go of him (same enemy as i'll talk in my Barbarian facts and experience.)

Onto the Barbarian now, a fairly interesting one in my opinion.
upload_2017-6-9_21-55-24.png

Characteristics :
Armor : 2 stars
Forcefield : 4 stars
Energy pool : 3 stars
Abilities :
- Goliath mode

Description :
In aspect, The Barbarian armor seems mostly shaped for CQC, with a rather broad-backed looking profile. This armor's ability, the Goliath mode, allows the Knight to increase his size and the density of his armor's upper muscles to obtain an extraordinary strength in a record amount of time. Overall, the Barbarian reveals himself usefull on the fronts which need brutal hits and can deploy in a few seconds a colossal strength. All of said abilities work only with the armor's physical capacities such as strength. Thus Knights in Barbarian meta-armor often become adepts of CQC, able to bend streetlights, fight by crushing vehicles on their enemies or by tearing their bodyparts off.

Something not mentioned here is the actual size at which the Barbarian armor grows, For a basic new Barbarian armor it can grow up to 6 meters high, and for the most advanced, all the way up to 10 meters, consider that one floor on today's average building is about 3/3.5 meters high. Yeah, this guy gets really big. Especially if you consider the basic size of the armor to be 2/2.5 meters high depending on the wearer's size. My team's Barbarian used a building's roof to hit a flying enemy once, it hurt a lot to say the least.

Remember everyone, if any of you want a translation about any of the battlesuits (which you can see all of them a bit over this post), just ask and i'll happily do it.

-side note, Who wants to bet with me that this first "Meh" vote was torgue?

And here's the new Psion armor translated as promised last time.

upload_2018-3-14_22-19-5.png

Characteristics :
Armor : 1 star
Forcefield : 5 stars (highest)
Energy pool : 3 stars
Abilities :
-Discord mode
-Puppet Master mode
-Windtalker mode

Description :
The Psion meta-armor is a new but efficient tool, alloted to the mental corruption of creatures of the Anathema and to the disorganisation of enemy troops by the manipulation of the flux, the way the creatures of darkness use to communicate. On most testing grounds, the Psion was acclaimed by every knight, most notably for it's abilities to slow down enemy activity thanks to Discord mode and for it's ability to give orders to the weaker and less-intelligent creatures by the use of the Puppet Master mode. This armor also has the ability to spy out enemy tactics thanks to the Windtalker mode.

There's the description done, now to an interesting story, my brother GM'd a quick mission on Knight about a month ago with only me and a friend of his. The armors we picked were Psion (me) and Bard (his friend), two armors absolutely not fit for fighting by themselves. We were sent to an area near Paris where contact was lost with another team of Knights, the mission was simple, learn if they went rogue or not.
Not much happened during the beginning, we used the Bard's ability to disguise as creatures of the anathema right away and walked around looking for clues or the knights themselves. While doing that i harvested a large amount of flux points (which are needed to use the Psion's abilities) by passing near a patrol of creatures of the anathema (I found out they were simply patrolling the area by using Windtalker mode), at one point a bit later, we found a "bastard" (what powerful creatures are called) giving orders to a small band of creatures, we decided taking him out was probably a good idea, to both get rid of a bastard and be safer afterwards when walking around. So we waited for him to be done and the small band to start doing what they were told, at which point i ordered them all thanks to puppet master mode to go far away, we then waited a bit for them to gain enough distance, I then used puppet master mode to order the bastard to go to the end of hallway in which we were, i then turned the corner from the opposite side of the hallway, activated discord mode on the bastard (to weaken him), who broke away from puppet master mode since it was able to see me, it started rushing to me while i unloaded my assault rifle onto him, meanwhile my bard friend ambushed him in the middle of said corridor and paralysed him, we finished him off this way without having to deal with any other creatures, we then moved to the roof of a nearby building using our jump module to take a look at our surroundings, and, when we landed, i found myself a few meters behind the bard, who had a gun pointed at his head, held by a Rogue armor. I talked out said Rogue from shooting and he explained how his Priest had the communication module and died. The Paladin and Warmaster in his team went away without waiting for him in an unregistered Vector (flying vehicle commonly used by the Knight to go around at over MACH10 speed). We then contacted HQ to send a Vector and evacuate with the Rogue. Mission success.

Coming back to this ol' thread for a new one, why you may ask? i'll tell you below.

1562936888416.png

Characteristics :
Armor : 1 star
Forcefield : 4 stars
Energy pool : 4 stars
Abilities :
-Longbow precision rifle
-The Vision

Description :
Where most meta-armors are created to fulfill a specific need on the field, the Ranger armor has instead been thought around a weapon, the polymorphous, polycaliber rifle "Longbow". This weapon is cut out to bring down the largest enemies and to wipe hordes of abominations off the map, all of which at any range. The Ranger meta-armor and the Longbow rifle are actually a single machinery which brings together the power and accuracy of an anti-material rifle with the versatility needed for those who work in the anathema's territory. Thanks to the Vision mode, integrated into the armor, the Knight can see, for a few seconds, things that should normally not be seen, like waves or microscopic elements.

Made this translation as i inspired myself from this to make my next idea, which you can see in this thread :
