Surveillance for Adverse Events After COVID-19 mRNA Vaccination

Question Are mRNA COVID-19 vaccines associated with increased risk for serious health outcomes during days 1 to 21 after vaccination?

Findings In this interim analysis of surveillance data from 6.2 million persons who received 11.8 million doses of an mRNA vaccine, event rates for 23 serious health outcomes were not significantly higher for individuals 1 to 21 days after vaccination compared with similar individuals at 22 to 42 days after vaccination.

Meaning This analysis found no significant associations between vaccination with mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and selected serious health outcomes 1 to 21 days after vaccination, although CIs were wide for some rate ratio estimates and additional follow-up is ongoing.

Fulton County investigation into Donald Trump moving forward

The DA’s office is focusing on the Jan. 2 phone call Trump placed to Raffensperger, in which he urged his fellow Republican to “find” the votes to reverse Joe Biden’s win in Georgia.

But the investigation also could extend to Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, who promoted lies about election fraud in a state legislative hearing; and U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who was accused by Raffensperger of urging him to toss mail-in ballots in certain counties. Graham and Giuliani have denied any wrongdoing.

RINO or mugwump? Or both?
Chris Christie says it is time for GOP to ‘face the realities of the 2020 election’

“We need to renounce the conspiracy theorists and the truth deniers. The ones who know better and the ones who are just plain nuts,” said Christie, speaking to an in-person audience at the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California. “We need to give our supporters facts that will help them put all those fantasies to rest.”
While the 59-year-old Republican stopped short of criticizing Trump by name, his critique of the GOP was clearly centered on the former President and his lies about the 2020 election.
“We need to quit wasting our time, our energy and our credibility on claims that won’t ever convince anyone of anything,” Christie said. “Pretending we won when we lost is a waste of time and energy and credibility.”
He took another apparent shot at Trump by urging those gathered to not tie the party to one individual.
“No man, no woman, no matter what office they’ve held or wealth they’ve acquired, are worthy of blind faith or obedience,” Christie said. “We deserve much better than to be misled by those trying to acquire or hold on to power.”
Christie’s remarks come as he plots a political comeback, fashioning himself as a truth teller in his own party.
