Politicians are just following their basic nature to ignore everything that doesn't provide them with support on the issues/concerns they "care" about for any given amount of time.

News organizations are basically politicians at this point. And with our "Justice" system giving people the right to lie without consequences, normal folks are pretty screwed nowadays.
