Some stuff to talk about!

In discord, some people talked about things that maybe will need more explanations from the devs, and could be discussed by the community.

Those are some of them:
  • Buying expansions (episodic content).
  • Family and/or friend packs.
  • Pets and their usefulness.
  • Social activities.
  • NSFW content.

1-Buying expansions (episodic content).
Recently I discovered this about Em8er: “Pay once, no subscription fee. Pay for episodic expansions. In-game store with cosmetics and convenience, but not power.”
So, what kind of content will be included in base game and what kind of content will be available in the expansions?

For the devs:
What will the kind of content be in those expansions?
Will we have some zones only available for those who buy the expansions?
Or some types of omniframes or weapons/abilities?

For the community:
I’m a little concerned about this, mostly because I don’t know what kind of content will be in this.
What do you think about this?
What kind of content do you think that should be free and what kind should be included in expansions?
And at the same time, be fair with the players that don’t buy those expansions?
What kind of content don’t you want in those expansions?

2- Family and/or friend packs.
There are several of the backer packs that include multiple copies of the final game.
So after the game releases, could we have packs, like family or friends packs, with several copies of the game in the same unit, with a lower price per copy and/or some extra stuff physical and/or digital?

For the devs:
Could it be done?
Is it planned?
Do you want to do this?
If yes, how do you want to do this or what do you want to be included in those packs?

For the community:
I think that it could be a very interesting idea, not only to make some players save money in multiple copies and/or get some extras, but to spread the word for friends.
What do you think about this?
What could be done?
What do you like to be included in those packs?
Which kind of packs do you want?

3-Pets and their usefulness.
We will have the THMPR as a pet to make the mining event and help fighting, and some people talked about if we could have more pets to do the same or more things than be only cosmetic.

For the devs:
What do you think about this?
Will other pets be cosmetic only or could they do other useful things, other kind of events, or social events?
Will the THMPR be the only pet that make the mining event or will we have more pets that do that event or other kinds of mining events?

For the community:
Some players talked about it in the discord and forums, if we could have pets to do some things like combat, events, minigames, social… because cosmetic only pets are boring.
What do you think about this?
What kind of usefulness do want for pets?
What kind of features or actions you don’t want for them?
Do you want to take care of them, raise them, train them, breed them…?

4-Social activities:
What should players do when they are at bases with other players resting and not in the open world shooting stuff?

For the devs:
What do you think about it?
What do you want to do?
What don’t you want to do?

For the community:
Some people gave ideas in discord and forums about things like: racing with pets/special omniframes/vehicles, fishing, cards mini-games…
But at the same time, something that don’t make the game losing its focus (like some games out there where the secondary activity took place from the primary one for several reasons), or the game be only known because its secondary activities.
(E.g.1: I’m looking at you Fortnite, where many players think that it’s only the BR mode and don’t know about the “Save the world” mode.)
(E.g.2 Or the old game with nsfw content called “Venus Rising” where it was planned to have a good story and lore, adventure, game mechanics, RPG… and the secondary activity was to have “sex” with other players or npcs, but the company almost only advertised about the last thing, so many players only went to the game about it, and not to play the game… and the game died…)
What do you think about this?
What kind of social activities do you think that are important to be in the game?
Which of them do you like?
Which of them don’t you like?

5-NSFW content:
Mr. Grummz said: “I am planning on implementing a "filter mode" so people who don't want to see flagged skins can filter them to defaults.”
So, what kind of nsfw content are we talking about?
Only appearance stuff like skins, customizations... or some kind of other things like a marriage system, nsfw emotes, nsfw minigames...?

For devs:
What kind of content do you want to put?
What kind of content could you add later?

For the community:
I don’t mind to have it in the game if it’s well done, and don’t fall in the previous category mistakes like taking the focus from the game or make some players come only for it.
What do you think about it?
What kind of content do you want?
What kind don’t you want?
What kind don't you mind that could be available?
What do you think about it?

Me neither but i'd like to have a better understanding on what we and if such expansion packs are available what they would offer.

I think the core game obviously should be free and regions but lets say some future worlds are made on another planet those could be an expansion hmm

I'd want an expansion that is not the same as what we have something different even new facilities or npc's and much more like going to another country and figuring out where you are who are these folks and what you have to do etc

I like this idea a multi-pack discount and there are many who play games together family/friends hey even grand parents!

Family packs should have a good starter set like how we had the special jet glider and lgv making it fun is good so with this pack it could have maybe family pets that interact with another or give you clues on what to do.

I'd like a pack that would get us ready to head off so transport/glider set and some pets

I think pets could have their specialist area depending on which class you have and the module you put on it. Standard pets could be just the follow you around and are more like guidance or they may have a scanner mode to amplify the scanner area for resources.

I'd like pets to have a variety of ways to use them some combat, medic, stealthy, repair, defensive, offensive, party bot etc etc

Hmm features i do not want for the bots are pets that kill everything or too overpowering because then you have nothing to do!

If its managable then training/rising them can be a good thing for example if you use them in your missions they have a link up that gives positive companionship but if you just leave it all the time not using it might not be as cooperative. I like the bots to link up with thumprs too i see this companionship for example like starwars with r2d2 and C3po sometimes you may hear their lovable
banters and annoyance with each other but they care :D

I think they should make it seperate that primary tab is simple to see and the secondary objectives too. You can always go back to secondary/primary with a few clicks i would hope unless its a timed or event then once its gone it goes until the next time it happens that should be made clear too.

A social hub is important to relax talk and explore the sky city there are other npc's and it makes us realise not only adults here but their family and children who live in the safety up here.
Activities could range from mini games to involve everyone such as musical drones where you have to grab the drone before it sits back on the station.

Dancing and tower dancing where you all have to stand on each others head the taller it gets the better points you get and these points can be used to get some rep points for npc to trust etc

zombie shooter a holographic zombie is trying to break into your holographic house you have to stop it using your micro thumpr to throw boulders at it the longer it goes the more zombies appear sometimes you see a hovering boulder so you must shoot it to get more boulders if the house gets damaged its bye bye house bye bye game :O Health can be replenished of the house if you see a floating heart must throw a boulder at the heart .
The scores would be announced by the pet bots and tell the other pet bots my owner is the best and they cannot beat us etc :D

I would like to see sumo battle bots where they push each other out of the ring that would be fun!

I like those ideas but it depends which can be implemented in the game.

I think players especially vets and founders shouldn't be forgotten because some game dev's focus mainly for the newer player base.

I like my racing and shooting so if i could have something with mechs that race and big fun then that would be amazing

I don't want the generic boring pants game that mech have i think this wont be like it

I don't mind if they did have pvp but it could be on another planet perhaps its something for the future shrugs

I think its something to think over with everyone and see what everyone thinks about all this hmm

Nothing says “It’s offensive!” like being both politically and historically offensive.

Re-enacting...
  • 9/11
  • Antebellum South w/ tsi-hu slaves
  • Death marches
  • Unit 731
  • Rape of Nanking
  • Salem Witch Trials
  • Spanish Inquisition
  • Final Solution
  • Trail of Tears
  • Rwandan Tsi-hu Genocide
Or better yet, there are tons inside history books that’s considered offensive nowadays.

Whitewashing is also offensive. terrible things have happened in history, pretending it doesn't exist doesn't allow anyone to learn from previous mistakes.

can go the other way too but it is not highlighted as much.

I just hope there is a better representation of all and the story to go with it even in games!

This is an interesting read an old one though

Absolutely, I think it is important to portray history realistically while making sure to emphasis the problems rather than glorify them. One reason why I have always had a bit of a problem with most WWII games, because it essentially is turning something horrific into entertainment.

My opa was a mechanic in WWII, never actually was a combatant himself, but whatever he experienced was so traumatic that he refused to talk about it even to his deadbed. Yet I can casually load up a CoD game and mindlessly gun down enemy soldiers and watch my comrades killed in front of me without feeling any of the horror. To me that indicates a problem.

Hopefully I am not derailing, but I do feel it is important that games be able to explore history without glorifying or trivializing the horrors that exist in our past.

To me it indicates that you can tell the difference between pixels on a screen and actual human lives, as most people can. That's not a problem, it's a good thing. I can slice corpus in half with my dread like nobody's business, but I won't even own a gun in real life. It's that way for a lot of people. Nothing wrong with that.

I can agree that certain things can be too much with all these so called realistic shooter games guess everyone has their own experiences i tend to avoid games like cod and go towards games that are more sci-fi, fantasy etc to me it is more interesting rl is the most harsh game with only 1 life!

i just hilight the words by holiding the left mouse button and passing across the words then a reply button appears.

Pets can be fun those useful pets, but if someone doesnt want a pet they don't need to have them plus it could be handy when playing solo.

Your conscious mind can, your subconscious mind cannot. At least that is my understanding as of latest scientific studies.

@zdoofop Sorry I was AFK this weekend, here are some links for you to peruse.

https://drdavidhamilton.com/does-your-brain-distinguish-real-from-imaginary/

https://newhopeoutreach.wordpress.c...ories/real-or-imagined-the-brain-doesnt-know/

What it boils down to is that when you look at an image, your brain reacts exactly the same way whether it is a real image, or an imaginary (CGI) one. Consciously you know you are playing a game, but your subconscious still reacts as if it was the real thing. This is why you can get adrenaline rushes while playing, that all comes from the subconscious preparing your body for fight or flight, even though you are merely sitting in front of a non threatening computer screen.

fine, that doesn't mean that playing cod and fighting in WW2 are the same thing. Just because I play Splinter Cell: Blacklist doesn't mean I'm ready to go off fighting in the Middle East. If it did, then the army would be making training video games for infantry instead of wasting all that money on firing ranges and training camps,

They use both video games and rl training some video games/simulation are used to help those with ptsd
They specifically say that the video game training is for tactics and technique, not for preparation on the field. If you want to say that the guy holding the vr gun is training for the field, fine, but that's a lot different from using a mouse, keayboard and/or joystick.

This is Interesting...even as babies, we are conditioned to be 'instinctual' from DNA encoding over millions of years - When new born babies are submerged, they will automatically hold their breaths. So, broadly speaking, making war has also become 'instinctual' never mind the tools - can we say then that Simulation (actions from experience of R/L) is a big promoter of synaptic stimulation/actions via production of endorphines, serotonin etc., which is what we need for 'autonomous' reactions ?

I feel like you are putting words in my mouth that were never intended to be there. We were talking about the mind, not going out and doing things. All I said was that the subconscious does not differentiate between real and imaginary inputs. The word I was hinting at but perhaps did not come right out and say was "desensitization".

The mind becomes accustomed to certain inputs even if they are imaginary. Playing CoD does not cause you to suddenly become a psychopathic individual, but it does precondition the subconscious to not put as much emphasis on human life. What you spend your attention on affects you as a person, it can be subtle, but over the long term it can change who you are.

But with that said, since you brought it up...
Excerpt from second link:
"When tested, Group One (practicing shots) improved 24 percent. Group Three (doing nothing) had no improvement. Group Two, the group that only imagined shooting foul shots, improved 23 percent yet did not physically touch a basketball."
