I don't know anything about chronicles of Elyria, but I can tell you that there will be other rounds of funding for Em-8ER.

Nope. Team Em-8ER received enough funds in the previous milestone to fund the last one before the Kickstarter. At this point we're waiting on the playable mock up to be completed and the Kickstarter campaign to commence.
