Since we will have several equipment by tier and to don’t have the inventory full of the same equipment with different tiers (e.g. if we have an equipment tier 1 and the same equipment tier 2, 3… we will have the same item X times max tier).

What if the same item could be upgradable to max tier available something like Dauntless?

In this way a tier 1 item will need one resource to be repaired, tier 2 need 2 resources… and if the base go down a tier the item couldn’t be repaired in the loosed tier and only have the stats and abilities of the currently base tier, this will save a lot in inventory space.

What do you think?

I think the idea of tiers was that different abilities would be available at different tiers. So for instance turret mode might be available at tier 1, while multi turret would be available at tier 2, and so on.
With this they could be the same ability that could be upgraded to tier 2, and if base go to tier 1 only the tier 1 version will work.
But we could have abilities that start in tier 2 or higher.
Upgrading abilities to new tiers could give more stats and options that could be moded by player choice.

hmm. Perhaps, but IDK if Dauntless is the best model for crafting. Back in Golden FF we had a variety of minerals of different quality that you cold mix in a variety of ways, while in Dauntless the options feel limited.

The stats could not work like in Dauntless, but it is a good example (in item tiers) of what ember could do to save a lot of inventory space, and the specifications could be only mods to craft and equip and not to craft the item all over again.

The issue I foresee with the Dauntless model would be how the quality of materials used affect each upgrade up to that max tier because Dauntless materials don't take into account the quality of said materials only what materials are used at which tier and in what quantity.

In this case the items are created by a fixed quality materials but the mods are created with the specific materials for certain stats/abilities and the repair cost will be depedent of the original cost of the creation materials.
In this way, if the base goes from tier 2 to 1 but players had saved a lot of tier 2 materials for repairs, they could still use the tier 2 equipment.
