Now bear with me on this.
I got the idea from this video talking about Gwent in The Witcher 3.
What if the TTRPG Crixa was played by the Reapers in Ember?
I imagine Reapers like to engage is some fun activity in their down time..
and although a TTRPG is likely way out of the day and age of a time
period that Ember is based in, it still might work!
Players could win extra resources by playing Crixa with other players, for those
so daring to wager their resources on a game of Crixa.
Essentially yet another way to gain resources.
Mark would be able to virtually advertise his TTRPG, and if Crixa
is fun to play, it could act as another resource sink for the game
(spend resources we thump to buy new ships to play against other Reapers with?).
A mini-game within the game!
Gwent was so popular in The Witcher 3 that players demanded it be made into
a real independent game.
