I've asked myself often, why is Among us such a memeable game? Why is Minecraft so popular despite having such low-quality graphics? After doing some research, here is what I've found:

Mom & Pop restaurants. People love them, but why? Well, first of, everyone loves an underdog. But beyond that, most people don't really care about the ambience. They don't need fancy booths or foot-long menus, they just want good food. And if the food tastes good, they'll go back for more, no matter how dingy the decor.

The same holds true for games. People don't really care that Minecraft is a bunch of squares, or very little art direction went into Among Us, they just want a good game.

What does this have to do with us? Well, Grummz is hoping that in lieu of the "surprise art", people will want to play/stream/watch the mockup for its gameplay. The ultimate point is this: It CAN work, but you'd better have a good quality game, otherwise you have a flop on your hands.
