Omniframe Hard Driver Mode - NEW art

the only gripe i had was that the 'spine' of the thing seemed very flimsy compared to the upper and lower portions. this certainly addresses those wildly varying proportions. more than i'd bargained for but cool beans. options for personal preferences are neato. oh no! people had a not 100%...

    Horizontal Weapon theory:

that would make sense if there was a long learning process for option B.... but there isn't. there's literally no learning process for something skewed that far. if the Player has made the decision to choose something that explains itself as pure ease of use, sacrificing many factors to be...

    Horizontal Weapon theory:

you're bringing baggage from infinite stat games here - who said that a New Player is forced or automatically starts with a Generico Supreme Weapon? you just assumed that they would only be allowed to use those because they are less effective in practice. there need not (and realistically...

    Horizontal Weapon theory:

i'm thinking long term specialization can still be achieved, without a spiral of infinite stats. at the core, IMO you can create very nice choices through: the sort of Weapon that is the slowest at Killing Enemies, would be the more generic and easy to use ones. inversely, the most unique and...

    Is consistency important to you?

a powerful feature set doesn't have to look like a mess. Windows Explorer is a reasonable example(and one everybody will know) of this, it achieves a relatively robust feature set and cosmetic set(for different style data/people), while not looking like something as ridiculous as this. all i...

Just a small forum design request + Poll

i always prefer the content being brighter than the background. because your eyes are naturally drawn towards bright things, or things that stand out. the background being brighter than the content of the page is an amateur mistake that many people make. there's a lot of things i facepalm about...

    Is consistency important to you?

consistency is incredibly important for games - otherwise the entire game would just feel like reading through /b. 'fun' is not a useful descriptor, because it's extremely vague. consistency is a very specific context, that things in a game must fit what that game already is and/or what that...

    Trigger happy moderators

Ubisoft having a Forum worse than their games..... sorry, i couldn't imagine something so bad. :D anti-flood with a 2 minute timer is pretty extreme. 10 seconds is much better. because there's no way a real user could realistically post twice in two seconds unless it's just single word...

    Signatures - New limits

i just noticed that the Edit Signature page doesn't instruct users as to what the limits are. that's surely the best/most important place to have that information in writing.

Should crafting resources be the currency we use?

trying to stop saturation is difficult. having one less type of Credits doesn't directly do anything to this. only having an appropriate balance between income/expense does. could you make no global Credit type work, and only Crafting Credits? perhaps.

    Shooting Range/Combat SIM/Training Hall...whatever you'd want to call it

a target range is always useful. it's useful for Development, too.... great for everyone so long as it's kept up to date and provides appropriate ways to test as many things as possible.

A message to those who wish to bring the "tried and true" to Ember

you're not wrong but Metacomplaints aren't productive to any community.

    Death and respawn?

having serious, long lasting penalties to death works, if.... you can be sure that cheesy unfair crap doesn't happen. that's..... pretty difficult to ensure.

    Regarding recoil

okay. i read it as that there had been a model established already.

    Regarding recoil

do we actually have a combat model? without anything playable, i don't think there can be, unless there's a lot of planning that happened that just isn't written down clearly. maybe there is, idunno. i can only speak for myself, but i don't think anyone is suggesting that. (nor are the systems...

Please keep your forum signatures toned down

just instill rules to force people to have ones that are not ridiculous. maximum number of lines, maximum number of pictures, maximum number of URL's, Et Cetera. do Spoilers work in Signatures? probably, right? people that are competent enough to moderate themselves could put their giant spam...

I had hoped Ember would be Free to Play...

they're nice, yes. at the same time it is a tricky balance to make them often enough that people actually get them, but not to make Players always want to sit around and wait for one before they ever spend money. not that people shouldn't ever or anything, but you don't want to inadvertently end...

    Regarding recoil

you definitely can, with how slow it starts flying in extended bursts! plenty of time to get a good looooong look at it. xD

What weapons would you like to see?

*snaps fingers* i got linked something earlier today, and that reminded me. i love how silly the concept of Gatling Gatling is. i want a Gatling Gatling Weapon. why? because it's a 'German Tank' - extremely over complex in order to have the smoothest, most elegant functionality possible. in...

    Regarding recoil

this is aiming at way more messages than just the quotes, trying to cut down length. you eventually learn how to operate the game and you can perform reliably. inversely, if your shot consists of point at him and click on him, what do you gain from that? without any of these systems every...
