    To infinity and beyond

I have no issues with the community finding legitimate and fun ways to “break the game” but eventually I would hope those methods are limited to keep the game from becoming boring when players can just “push button, win fight”

    Suggestion: Drop-in Instanced Kaiju hunting

This entire thread makes me feel that it’s a good thing they’re developing this game loop into the next playable demo build. Hopefully lots of questions will be answered and we like their first attempt at it

Another "game when?" + Focus Change Feedback Thread

I appreciate the shout out and it’s good to know we have different base perspectives and those may cause us not to see eye to eye even if we agree on many things. I notice you in discord quite a but too and appreciate your insights. This description of Firefall makes a lot more sense when I...

    Suggestion: Drop-in Instanced Kaiju hunting

Your additional note was essentially my thought above. You form a 6-8 person party for the instance but only 4 go in initially and if any of those disconnect another from the group can pop in. The alternative would be the group automatically search for a person to match and be brought in while...

    Suggestion: Drop-in Instanced Kaiju hunting

If that would not work, there may also be an option where groups that lose a member receive a buff or the Kaiju receives a debuff to compensate for the loss?

    Suggestion: Drop-in Instanced Kaiju hunting

What about expanding rosters for instanced battles to include “alternate” seats where alternate keeps playing outside of the instance unless required and get a % of rewards if the battle is completed? Or making the encounters non-instanced but give loot based on “team participation” and just let...

Another "game when?" + Focus Change Feedback Thread

I appreciate your perspective and insight for sure, especially knowing that I have zero knowledge of Firefall. However, my personal buy in is not based on Firefall whatsoever either. The Crixa universe, EM-8er (or whatever the new name is going to be), and surrounding lore may be spiritual...

    State of the Lore

I would expect that on the TTRPG, human variations would each have their own separate benefits, drawbacks, and expected features. My hope for Em-8er is that we have the option to make several characters on our account and eventually see all 27 variations as playable in game.

    State of the Lore

I am unsure which would make it into Em8er at launch, but I hope the tabletop introduces at least 5 of them. A humanoid elf and dwarf colony were basically teased. To be clear, I believe all are basically human so I do not expect to see full-on dog or cat faces.

    State of the Lore

F.A.I. Was generous enough to link a few of the lore drops that are not contained within the novel and Gatestriders PDF: This excerpt describes the system the Feli come from and why they are top rated pilots, the broader story includes characters from the novel and focuses on the character...

    Gatestriders (Crixa) Discussion and Hype

It looks cool though and I’m sure if you had the resources to build / assemble those sets it would be fun to play and watch.

    Gatestriders (Crixa) Discussion and Hype

Personally, I don’t plan to play with this elaborate of a physical map. It takes far too much time to prepare that when you play as a fun hobby.

    Gatestriders (Crixa) Discussion and Hype

Anyone who wants to discuss how they think the system will or should work, has ideas for premade tables, stats, etc share your ideas with the rest of us here and have some fun!

    State of the Lore

I have not seen much written about Crystite in the lore I’ve read through so I’ll take your word on that one. I’m hopeful that “magic” would be mostly limited to adding some alteration to existing attacks and whatnot. The gates seem to be a version of the same tech as the rifts, so I wouldn’t be...

    Player relationships with NPCs

I could see a similar npc model to the hired mercs in Elite Dangerous where procedurally generated npcs can be hired and “level up” alongside you. I would prefer something more personal however.

    Player relationships with NPCs

It sounds great to me, at least some version of that would feel good in a polished game. I would like to see a broader game system that includes faction relationships and promotion. I wonder how the Ark Liege RP title could factor into that.

    Player relationships with NPCs

I like the sound of this, but it feels more like a justice system in the game rather than a direct npc relationship system.

    State of the Lore

Sounds like a major in-game event to me.

    State of the Lore

I’m unfamiliar with the “magic metal” being mined. Where are you drawing that description from? As for the Enshigi, it’s hard to believe they would have zero influence going forward but thus far, they basically represent a hard boundary against visiting dark sectors of the unknown universe that...

    Player relationships with NPCs

I was curious what that would develop into as the game nears launch. I think that modding will still work its way into the game post launch because it happens even in games that don’t want mods at all and the reaction to mods when they happen will be the most interesting for me.
