What about this weapon? - part 8

Spoiler: Description from part 1

A few years ago some weapon concepts were presented, but it seems (I may be wrong) only the Stardyne ST-11 Assault Rifle and the Tessara Rifle were added to the store for sale, or as rewards for subs.
I can't find the original forum post with the original images, so I extracted them from a video that I have saved here on my PC, and since there's no information about those weapons, I would like to ask what you guys think these weapons will be like.

I don't know what to think about this one, it gives the shotgun vibes, mostly because of the big drums underneath, but I have no idea about the purpose of those six pieces with little holes on the top of the weapon. Maybe it launches something? Or maybe it's a heatsink?
Anyway it looks pretty cool.

Perhaps the 6 piece is a 6 stage adaptable vent system that go from the nearest to the furthest.
When pressure builds one of the pieces would light up and the more pressure is built the more pieces are used.

Also it could act as a warning system when the gun cannot control the pressure any further e.g when all 6 pieces start to light up red maybe.

Alternatively the 6 pieces could be something like this lightening gun hmm a lightening shotgun?

Actually now that you mentioned "6 stage" I remember something else! Some of the current electromagnetic railgun developments use this kind of multiple stage mechanics, In which the magnets are distributed along the barrel, and are activated in sync with the projectile, to accelerate it at the right moment and not cause any kind of deceleration.

But you may be right, the fact that those six thingies have several small holes make it look like it's meant to vent the gases from the gun.
