why is that something to discuss?
Is the AC getting told what to do? If not: check the thing that's supposed to do that.
Is any part of the AC, which is supposed to have power, without power? if so: it's electrical.
If not: it's mechanical.

Do you turn on power by closing the circuit in a way that can't be checked or something? I can't think of any other reason a mechanical problem would result in lack of power.

Said as someone who isn't entirely sure which of amperes and volts measures which thing, and who doesn't own a hammer.
