Then you are a __________!<<insert meant to be funny term here.

I have been messing with this engine ever since it was released to the public, even when it was a subscription based engine. I have learned so much from my Tribes Universe pet project that it is crazy.

Ive been modding games since the days of Tribes 1 (1998) and I also used UDK (aka Unreal Engine 3). This engine just keeps on getting updated and new features added constantly, and it just keeps getting better and better.

I think that this engine is going to allow the gaming industry to finally change for the better. I think gone are the days of huge gaming companys force feeding us what they "think" we want to play. This engine allows small indie groups to crank out some really kick ass games, that don't require humoungus offices and 100's of staff.

I just had to say all this, Unreal Engine 4 you are truly UNREAL!

***edited term for the description of people who don't like ue4 to be non offensive, non triggering, non political, and gender neutral...........

heh... calling ppl that don't like UE4 communists is... as smart as every christian. (ass fuck dumb (my opinion!))
So can we pls keep politics away from stuff like engines? please?!? Let's just say someone that doesn't like UE4 got a different taste...
(for example i like engines like OctaForge or the Cube 2: Sauerbraten/Tesseract engine and i think that SAGE isn'T too bad either but i don'T like Unity and i think it's "bad". So would you call me Communist/Nazi(i hope you don'T, cause when you do i gonna cut off your limbs and arms, rip out your guts and burn you, all while you'RE alive)/Conservative(screw you if you do)/Liberal(screw you here too)/Socialist/Anarchist just 'Cause i like these engines and don'T like those engines?

I use changyou genesis. It's open-source, unlike unity

But ultimately I still use haloPC's HEK and cryengine for model prototyping since with halo, you just rig your model, import it, and you're done. And with cryengine you can attach meshes and stuff together with xml :)

You took it way too seriously. In America, people sometimes use it jokingly as a synonym for heretic.

im not 'murican, and that should have been clear by now _._
so you guys should keep in mind that not everyone is going to see the things the same way you do... (and that people are going to jump in barking and biting if you take it over a certain "edge")

That's one way to look at it, but I prefer to not automatically assume the worst about someone.

I take the spelling of American you made offensive, since you spelled it 'murican. When that spelling is used, it is meant to be an inflammatory spelling, which is used to insinuate that one should be ashamed to be an American, or that being an American somehow makes you less of a person.

Can we keep that kind of stuff out of a thread about a game engine please?

You see how that works?

I live in Tennessee, aka the south, I've never heard anyone pronounce it that way nor spell it like that? In fact the only time I have ever even seen it spelled or said that way is usually from someone not even from the USA, and its always been used as an inflammatory term, meant to get a reaction.

But then again, I don't go around reading peoples shirts either...........

Well, once you know what " Maricón " means.
Wellp... Considering what society has started accepting, it's not really that surprising that people openly address themselves as ' maricóns ' ^_^
Just point and laugh at those people, shame them if you want

-----------

Well just to be on topic, I still use cryengine 3, and HEK. Is there anyone else here from the halomaps community(HEK users)?

No game should look worse than Crysis(2007 version) and run worse too while using textures up to SIX TIMES THE SIZE OF CRYSIS`WHILE STILL DOING SO . I can run crysis with locked smooth framerate with everything maxed out with the high-res textures imported from cryEng.V :)

I don't like any of the three mainstream engine editors because they promote the wasteful 3dsmax-style tiles based material editor for texturing. It makes devs lazy and games that look worse than crysis run worse than crysis.

---------

OHHH H ! ! !! ! ! Also Also ! ! ! Don't edit your posts to be easy and unoffensive ! ! That promotes a future called Idiocracy( A movie from 2006 ). Your individuality is appreciated, but don't cater to the weak. Because that sidesteps natural selection. It'd be bad for the future to promote ``survival of the unfit`` ^_^

I'm pretty sure people started spelling it that way to make fun of George Bush Jr.

Well with Star Citizen leaving Cryengine and adopting Amazon Lumberyard it shows how important an engine is.

Amazon Lumberyard also has the freely available editor, which can lead to mods and the such.

I wonder how lightweight and netcode is like..
